Health and Beauty: Just Talks Of Hair

I’ve gone out-of-town  – across the pond – to hibernate for the holidays, and while on some sort of zen, I have decided not to make-up, nor do my hair and pretty much have been spending my days thinking, writing, doing more thinking and reading, but I hate to admit – I’m still VPN working at nights, California time. I realize since I’ve been here, that I miss my otherwise naturally curly long hair from when I was in my thirties. And just when I was about to search for the best of products to perhaps bring back my curls, this popped up. And you know when something I’m thinking about streams online, it is a hint that I need to discuss it here. For all other options – go here For a list of the best hair care products – go here

Health & Beauty: This and That

So many articles, so little time, I say about all that is offered up to better yourself, your appearance and even your outlook on life. I welcome them all and take from each suggestion whatever suits me. Or that I feel is obtainable. I don’t put too much pressure on myself to look more than I do. I prefer natural in all things makeup and hair color. Clothes I don’t go overboard – my closet, full of staple pieces and fashion that can be carried on throughout a few years, mixing and matching and creating my own simple style. I love how fashion has evolved now that we can actually wear flats to accentuate and feel sexy. Clothes have become more comfortable and consciously designed for the women on the go. I’ll elaborate more as time goes on – but for now, here’s my latest finds:

Health & Beauty: What’s Good To Know

I took two Tylenol before heading out to a company belated ‘holiday party’ over the weekend, aiming to ward off any physical pains I was feeling because of my backache. And without much thinking, I ordered a glass of wine, during the cocktail hour. Then one more during dinner and by the end of the night, one more, totaling three glasses of wine. I usually pace myself at these events because, as we all know – moderation is key to success in any company function. By the time I got home, I felt light-headed and extremely dizzy – so did my date. That night I couldn’t sleep, tossing and turning and feeling an unexplainable high (not drunk), and of course I got online->Facebook at three in the morning hoping to distract myself, and this article popped up. I really hate the fact the internet knows me so well – sending my way article after article about all things that I should know about: More articles of interest – the meaning of a good friend and …

Health & Beauty: Core Exercises Without the Gym

I endured the worst backache recently – the pain so severe, it zinged down to my knees, and my entire body felt as if out of proportion.  Not sure what I was suffering from, a cold, a virus, a pinched nerve and by the time I could see a doctor, it sort of – well  almost – went away.  So on Sunday I went for a long walk, for the first time in a while, and I remembered a woman I was buying fruit from at a farmer’s market in Florence, told me walking is the best medicine to cure most ailments. And she was right – the walk helped and I feel like finally I am on track to recovery. Of course the internet sensed my latest issues, and sent this article my way  – 6 Best Core strengthening Exercises to do at home and I like the idea that they only take 10 minutes: 1. Bridge The bridge exercise strengthens the whole abdominal region, the lower back and the glutes. 2. Straight Leg …

Struggles With Anxiety Are Real

I do struggle with anxiety and for the longest time I was in denial or thinking It would go away after all the normal stress of every-day life diminishes, or that I can fix all the things that give me anxious. But recently I’ve been up every night worrying, and even having trouble breathing more often than not, and the thought of having too much on my plate all the time is certainly taking it’s toll on my body. I can feel it. Funny thing is the internet knows what topics to send my way, even if I don’t research that very subject while online, it shows up just in time, or perhaps I just notice it from the corner of my eye when I am looking for something else. Either way, here’s one that lists the different feelings of anxiety and I am curious to know how many of you can relate – men and women – even if the article is directed to ‘girls’ anxiety is something all of us feel at some …

Lifestyle: What Makes You Instantly Attractive

Based on a list in Town & Country mag, what makes you instantly attractive is everything cosmetic, and based on my own observations on the street, in restaurants, department stores, and even buying a car. The more you look your best, the better the service you get. One day I decided to look my worst. Meaning to say, not paid too much attention to how I was dressed in an ill-fitting pair of jeans, an old T-shirt, and tennis shoes. My hair was collected up in a bun, and I wore my glasses instead of my contacts. That day, I walked into various high-end department stores, and not a single person took me seriously, nor approached me. Getting the attention of the waiter during lunch was also difficult. A week later, I dressed the part. A Pencil skirt, and top in black, and high heels in nude. full make up, hair done up and I went to the same stores. And I was not only welcomed in, but quickly offered personal attention to my shopping …

Lifestyle: How To…

There seems to be an online manual for everything these days and that’s fine. Because once in a while we do need a little push to get things done, or even ideas to improve upon the norm, and then there are even suggestions which raise an eye brow or causes our jaws to drop open, wondering why we didn’t think of this or that. Anyway, you get the point and so here we go:     {photo source}

What Had Me Thinking…

I can’t believe half the year is done with and with it, lots of unwanted changes have taken place in my life. I am hoping that the second half of the year would be more positive, and hopefully the bad streak of events are over and done with and I can start the healing and reshaping process. Because of all the weirdness, and I know I promised I wouldn’t address them here, but I am human after all and sometimes need to just say what’s on my mind – I have been researching more topics on self-help than I have ever. Kinda like these:

Beauty: Keeping Healthy in Hair

While sick with the cold/flu/worst cough ever, I relied on medication for relief, taking the remedy religiously every four hours, just so I could sleep, or move about, even to talk. I realize in a weeks time that my face and hair became super dry, and it got me to understand the effects of medication inside and outside of our body. That’s why I try to minimize all medications, and opt for natural healing instead. Anyway, I came across this article about ways to keep your hair strong and shiny, stating that certain deficiencies in our diets are the cause of most damaging effects on our hair.  Although the article is pretty helpful, and one I abide by, I do also wonder does this apply to aging hair, and what if you  have to be on medication? For those questions, I have included the following links for: Medication AGAINST Hair, and aging hair. Do you have tricks, or secrets for healthy hair that you want to share with us?
