Month: January 2014

january 2014 – thirty day recap

I  told myself I’d recap each month to see how much progress I’ve made with my goals and to strive for more in the upcoming month.  This may sound a bit too-driven for some, but it’s the only way, the older I get, the more I get the things I want done. So for January: Adopted  healthy eating and a weekly exercise routine. I’ve focused more on healthy thinking and a positive outlook. I’ve allowed myself to be photographed eight times in January, I’ll pop my photos on my blog, here and there. I’ve signed up with a marketing plan, online promoting, book signing and committed to paperback printing  for my first novel- all in the Month of January. I’ve signed on to http://www.Lumosity.com and have picked up watching The Carrie Diaries just to stay in touch with my youth. Have you achieved your goals so far? Do share.

just that kind of a day

I swear the weather controls my mood and for weeks since it’s been sunny and warm here in San Francisco, I’ve been upbeat and very positive. But as of  Monday, the weather changed, although warm, it’s now cloudy or foggy or muggy. Can’t figure out what the heck it is, so I’ve slumped, feeling not so motivated. My apologies, but it happens to the best of us. So here’s to wishing for a perfect summer days, where I could just sit in a garden and write. Until then this just has to do:

three bars and a cafe – san francisco – no 5

I don’t know why, but recently I am in the mood to be in bars situated on a rooftop or the highest level of a building somewhere downtown. Perhaps because we’ve had clear skies for weeks, with 70 degree temperatures. I promise you I am not bragging, simply explaining my mood. So with that I’ve found three bars that fit the bill and a cafe, I happen to love, in an old-fashioned kind of way. Click on photo to be redirected:

a double take on winter fashion

Women, I think just as equal to men, look at other women, but mostly because of the fashion statement the admired is making at the time she is being looked at. I know I do. I look at a well dressed woman all the time, sometimes even do a double take, especially when she isn’t looking in my direction. What can I say, I appreciate a well thought out ensemble, a unique look or even something very simple, as long as it stands out and catches my eye. San Francisco, a city hardly like New York, Paris, Milan and maybe London, still surprises me sometimes. Especially when I walk about Union Square or Nob Hill, I get a glimpse of some fashionable women parading their attire, especially at a brunch get together at a fancy restaurant or an upscale department store. Winter time in particular is the most interesting and although we haven’t experienced true winter this year, I still see a few, insisting to dress season appropriate.  I don’t dare photograph them, no matter …

being photographed in natural state

I vowed I would allow myself to be photographed more, so here’s the first of hopefully many and yes, it is at the beach in San Francisco on a very unusually warm Thursday evening, last week. Walks on the beach is how  I draw inspiration in most anything I need to do or work through, including brainstorming my novels, strategizing my blog topics, or simply planning a weekly dinner menu.  This is probably the best photograph of me, unaware and in the most natural state.

plans for 2014: make it happen

January 17th already and I have to say, I have no idea what’s happened thus far. I do know however, that I’ve spent most of my days so far in meetings and social gatherings getting ideas, getting to know people and getting inspired, just in general. I have big plans for 2014 and I’ve realized in the past that if I set goals, I can actually achieve them and feel fulfilled at the end of the year, no matter how small the accomplishment. This year, I have some high expectations of myself in business and some fun plans for pleasure. Hopefully I can achieve all that I set out to do this year:

panoramic photography: boredom at its best?

Lately, I’ve sat around and waited it seems forever for people to arrive. Whether because I’m meeting them in a mall for coffee or lunch in  a park . So, outside of checking emails and Facebook and every other non-interesting online distraction, I switched my phone camera to panoramic setting and clicked a few photos, playing I suppose.  🙂
