Travel: Would You Stay In An Underwater Hotel?

I do love the water, and I live by the ocean in San Francisco, and throughout all my travels I always include a destination connected to some body of water – but a hotel immersed in water is something I have yet to experience or even consider being submerged,  for fear of tapping into my claustrophobia. But, would you if you could – stay in an underwater hotel?   On another topic – to recline or not to recline- that is the latest question for when flying, especially on a long haul – Here’s what they say.  Do you agree or disagree? I haven’t been to Capri in 20 years, but I remember it fondly. So last night, my wanderlust had me searching Netflix and Amazon Prime for films based on the Island and naturally all of Italy. Which I found and listed below for your reference. But for the sake of this post, a boutique hotel pick in Capri was all I can think about for the planning stages of a trip this year to this romantic destination, brimming with breath-taking scenery, cuisine and nightlife, and some of the best beaches in the world.  As for me, I crave smaller details and sometimes luxury in accommodations , because I spend a great deal of time in my room, penning from the inspiration I draw by my environment, whether here or the next novel. I can’t say it enough – October is a wonderful time to travel and with the need of taking a week or so to simply unplug, you may want to consider Mallorca, Spain and this spectacular boutique hotel, which is  wonderful anniversary present, or a honeymoon destination or just because. I mean really, what more do I need to say?

I never say no to a weekend getaway to Solvang, Calfornia – where I get a dose of all things Danish. Naturally, indulging in amazing Danish pancakes, and other pastries in a number of cafes and eateries adorning the simple town. It is my near-fix in between my trips to Europe. Over July 4th weekend this year, while in Solvang, waiting at curbside to be seated for breakfast here, I noticed The Landsby and after breakfast walked across the street to take a closer look – and talk to the staff at reception about the property and all things relevant for me to make a reservation for a weekend getaway in October, when the weather is most ideal in California, in  particular , the Santa. Inez wine country. And what’s wonderful for me,  is that the hotel is pet-friendly.

Ah the idea of being in a place like this for a week or two, to regroup and clear the mind and body and soul is an idea I’ve had for a long time. Escaping the hustle and bustle of city life and the never ending list of chores and realities of every day life. Nevermind the hotel is 57 miles from the nearest airport. Isn’t that the whole idea? 🙂

Travel: Planning Stages Have Begun

This morning alone I noticed so many of my friends, and those in the same blogging world have planned a trip to Paris – a girls getaway is the theme of their travel. Which got me in the mood to begin my planning. I am aiming for late May-early June this year and hope I can manage a three-week getaway mostly because of logistics. Dog-sitting, care for an ailing mother, and so on. You know the drill. So, here is what’s trending in the midst of what I am considering for my getaway:
