Fashion: Oscar Red Carpet 2016 – Favorites

I don’t know about you but I felt the stars lacked a certain glamour at this year’s Oscars. Opting for a more relaxed look instead, as if dressing up for a formal cocktail gathering at the Met. Perhaps a fund-raiser or…yeah just that. With that said, I found it very easy to pin-point old Hollywood glamour as that is what I associate the Oscars with.   {click here to see the rest – and let me know what you consider a grand look} {click here for the feature image}

Food: What Is A Bunuelos Stack You Ask?

I had no idea what Bunuelos was, even though I live in San Francisco and should probably have an idea. But I stumbled upon this wonderful recipe and am very excited to try it this weekend, feeling the need for a treat to bring me out of the funk I am in at the moment (see here). Bunuelos is a cinnamony crunchy stacks of goodies, which remind me of something my mother used to make when I was a child.  Except they were made with pita bread. Same principle but a different take. So enjoy the treat, and actually I love  the idea of the added strawberry ice cream.

Food: Cannot Get Enough of These Healthy Suggestions

I am glad I stumbled upon this wonderful blog, since I am the worst at photographing food I make to post. Meaning I do forget to do it each time I come up with my own creation. Anyway, I found five favorites to add to my menu, changing it up a little from our healthy normal and very basic eats I have insisted upon with my family. Here are my favorites:

Fashion: Marchesa Fall 2016

This is Oscar week of course, when all of Hollywood spends the next few days, if not attending some pre-function,  inside of a salon, a spa, nip-tuck center, and even at their therapist getting ready (their mind set) for the EVENT of the HollyWORLD. So, I figured since Marchesa is often the gown of choice on the red carpet, to include the designer’s Fall 2016 fashion for our viewing pleasure.

French For A Day – Or A Day To Play French

There is a restaurant (La Central)  in the corner of Grant and Bush in San Francisco, I haven’t been to for a while. Perhaps three years-unfortunately for me-because I had forgotten how wonderful the place is, not only because of the very French ambiance but for the food also. I normally take the same route to walk during my lunch break when I plan to shop near Union Square. But Tuesday last week, I decided to veer right, thinking I was going to go to Banana Republic to check out their clearance rack, instead I went in for lunch – dragging a good friend of mine with me.

Travel: San Francisco Day Trip and Photo Op.

The wine country is a place I can visit once a month. It’s a great day trip escape from a bustling city like San Francisco. On Sunday, the weather was unusually hot and a little muggy, so we decided to take our typical day trip: We parked on the Main Street in Sausalito to have breakfast, and I had to take these unusually wicked photographs. And I snapped more photos than I could imagine, wishing I could forego the rest of the plans and simply run through the fields. Why is it – fields of flowers bring out the kid in all of us. We had a picnic in V. Satui winery as we always do, napped under the trees, and then headed back home.   Can you blame a girl 🙂

Art: In Other News – Van Gogh’s Bedroom

The Art Institute of Chicago recreates Van Gogh’s famous bedroom painting. Which will be rented on Airbnb!!! Moving the art viewing experience from a linear surface to a three-dimensional environment, the Art Institute of Chicago is launching an interactive experience alongside their latest exhibition—entry to a full-size replica of Van Gogh’s painting The Bedroom. The room, available on AirBnB starting today, includes all the details of the original painting, arranged in haphazard alignment to imitate the original room. {Click here to read the entire article} This is remarkable and fascinating and  something I would do in a heart beat. What is one thing you’d want to do if money was no object?
