It Is The Holiday Season – Right?

I think the fact, Thanksgiving was the fourth Thursday in November instead of the third as normal, I feel thrown off – meaning – that last week of November was usually a buffer to get in the Christmas holiday mode. But this year, all of a sudden it is only 16 more days to Christmas and 23 more days to year end. What? I mean, I am not freaking out, are you? Even if I haven’t sent out my Christmas cards, nor considered shopping for gifts for the immediate family, or even have a clue as to what the dinner menu would entail for Christmas eve because I’ve been too busy rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic for the past year, perhaps like most of us and well, here we are…near the last hours (if you will) in getting it all done. So, here’s what’s on the agenda today. Gifts, fun ones, practical ones and hopefully one the receiver will not re-gift. Qualifier – everyone I know is either a chef, loves to travel …

Holiday Series: In The Baking Mode

I am partly hosting a holiday-ish party next weekend and although most of the catering has been established, and deposits made, the snowflake cookies we envisioned isn’t going to happen – from a bakery. So, I volunteered to bake – for the first time – the said cookies and decorate them in time for the Saturday event. Then of course, I stumbled upon this list of 12 simple and delicious baking recipes for this holiday season to gift all the wonderful beings in your life past the immediate family.  Check out some of my favorites and for the rest go here: And since I usually tweak whatever recipe I want to try, I had to add my take on each one below: Whatcha ye baking?

Last Minute Gifts and Stocking Stuffer Countdown Begins

Right about now the panic has set in or maybe not – to each his/her own, but the idea that not everyone on the gifting list is checked off  has either helped you to a second serving of a glass of wine or the consumption of much sugary goods – hopeful to reduce the stress and anxiety. Here’s what you do or can do – first take a deep breathe and second, with glass of wine in hand, check out these ideas – scroll over photo

All Things Holiday Series

Since I’ve been away for a few weeks, my mind occupied otherwise, I haven’t posted much here. But while walking about here and there, and sitting down for a cup of hot tea between appointments and meetings, I can’t help but overhear folks updating one another about where they are with their Christmas to-do list: You know, gifts, decorating, dinner plans or not, and even a family holiday to some exotic destination – these topics are the norm right about now. So I figured I’d add to it.

The List of Posibilities for This Holiday Season

I hate the concept of – I can’t because…, or, there is no way possible…., or simply, NO it won’t work…  Because I am firm believer of anything is possible – and there are solutions to every problem, and the only thing holding a person back is their inability to think outside the norm.

Travel: For The Romance of Winter or Simple Hibernation

There is definitely a romantic feel to winter travel, even if in some places snow and freezing temps are involved. The idea of cozying up with your loved one, or not, but instead tucked under a blanket in front of the fireplace, travel in winter is wonderful, especially to destinations with the ideal accommodations from this list: Hint: Also great gift ideas for her or him.

holiday Series: Best Hostess Gift Ideas or Otherwise

I realized that the list of cool gifts below, in addition to being ideas for a hostess gift,  can also be exchanged for office parties, secret Santa with friends for an annual gathering at a restaurant to celebrate the holidays, and really for just about anyone on your Christmas list:

Holiday Series: Thoughtful and Creative Gift Ideas

I was online last night and it seems most of the gift suggestions are the same old – only re-imagined or refashioned. Robes and socks, bags and shoes, jewelry, and kitchen gadgets are some of few that come to mind. So, finding unique gift ideas is hard work and hopefully this list will help, same unique gift for everyone and anyone in your circle: {for more gift ideas go here}

Holiday Series: Gift Ideas For the Traveler

That would be me – the traveler, so I figured I’d kick off my holiday gift idea series with some ideal gifts for the traveler in your life or the ones you are trying to introduce the idea to – that travelling is probably one of the best experience any human can have in their lifetime and a lifetime spent not travelling – is a life not lived well. 🙂 {featured image and source}
