Intrigued By Design

As I gather ideas for home and garden, and finally begin the planning stages on how to renovate, I cannot help but feel utterly inspired by the old, the distressed, and the neutral of colors. Source

Decor: Is The Theme for 2021

I was on a work call the other day, where one of the participants sat at her desk in a room I could have sworn was somewhere in Paris. But it wasn’t she said, it was her tiny apartment which she turned into a Parisian artists loft tucked somewhere near Sacré-Cœur. You know the ones in the attic, with large windows and open space filled with canvas, paint brushes, and whatever artists collect to create an inspirational space. Secretly I knew she and I would be great friends. Yesterday I took a much needed day off from work and just drove around a bit in the rain trying to figure out if it is worth my effort to plan out 2021, like I normally do each year, or simply let the new norm restrictions guide the course so not to feel as disappointed. I returned home, thinking perhaps I should embark on all the home renovation projects I had been pondering over in 2020: such as designing an actual garden for the backyard, updating the …

Decor: Much Admired Home Renovations

In light of the fact, we are still on lockdown, more so in the states, I am often times searching for inspiration for when I renovate my mother’s house. To create the sanctuary I feel is necessary to sustain the current lifestyle which could very well turn into a permanent one: Working from home, vacationing from the couch, and creating dining experiences throughout the house, mainly of course the dining room, kitchen nook, backyard/garden/patio. Here’s what I am pinning to my architecture/design/decor wall: So are you in the mood to renovate? If so what part of your home? {featured image full credit}

Lifestyles We Share

I think we can all agree and some may disagree that we have lots in common during this pandemic lockdown/half-lockdown/possible opening/maybe closing/much reservation in the season ahead – that we have found new ways to keep busy or distracted. In my case, updating the house, swooning over travel destinations, cooking, watching movies on various apps, and tapping into my artistic side – oh and don’t forget walking, lots of walking (which I used to do anyway) I’ve never been a fan of the gym. So this Thursday, while juggling a bathroom renovation, painting the kitchen cabinets to a lighter color – grayish-blue, and updating the bedroom, I am mostly focused on home renovations and what I am taking from each one: What’s got you distracted, or busy these days?

Decor: For The Love of a Neutral Home

Just dream along…I mean what else do you have to do this early Saturday morning? Neutral and steady hues of white are my first and foremost choice for my primary home 🙂 – and then I’d like to have a second place where I can add all the wonderful colors to create the whimsical of space. Or maybe the guest house out back would be that attempt-in my next life since now I am content with my current living space. But the first house would look something like this And my charming guest house or second home used solely for my writing 😉      What decor would you opt for? And how do you get rid of negative energy in your home   {featured image source}

Decor: An English Home

Ah, the characteristics of a European home, even while remodeled,  I simply cannot get enough. Fortunately for me, I have family sprinkled across England and France and in their quaint homes I take refuge and feel the most inspired by their choice of decor. On another note: Have you been watching The Crown Season 3? If so I have some thoughts to share Do you agree that the age of maturity and clash of generations is the main topic of the era covered in season 3?  What do you think of Princess Anne’s relations with Parker Bowles – what web of drama the royals have shared? Watching Prince Charles life unfold in season 3, do you find yourself emphatetic  towards him? How about towards Prince Phillip?  What’s your favorite scene? Although there are many, I favored the one about Prince Phillip meeting the men who walked on the moon and his expectations from them regarding one of the most important moments in history – episode 7

Food: Carrot Cake

This morning I had a craving for carrot cake with my coffee. But finding a tasteful slice at the early morning hours in downtown San Francisco is pretty challenging.
