Boutique Hotel Pick – JK Place – Capri, Italy

I haven’t been to Capri in 20 years, but I remember it fondly. So last night, my wanderlust had me searching Netflix and Amazon Prime for films based on the Island and naturally all of Italy. Which I found and listed below for your reference. But for the sake of this post, a boutique hotel pick in Capri was all I can think about for the planning stages of a trip this year to this romantic destination, brimming with breath-taking scenery, cuisine and nightlife, and some of the best beaches in the world.  As for me, I crave smaller details and sometimes luxury in accommodations , because I spend a great deal of time in my room, penning from the inspiration I draw by my environment, whether here or the next novel. And this hotel will suit me just fine, while in Capri. Care to join? Here’s a list of films made in or about Capri, but my all time favorite classic – It Started in Naples – but really mostly in Capri  {featured image …

Boutique Hotel Pick – Le Mas Des Poiriers – Avignon, France

Even at this point in life, I dream of fairy tales, not so much about a prince sweeping my off my feet and ending up living a life of a princess, but more like, a place an adult woman could escape to, and be pampered for a week or more, with pool side refills on the finest of champagne and naps  on a plush wicker chaise longue in the gardens – that to me is the ideal of a fairy tale – 🙂

Food: Dinner Tonight – Chicken Salad

The recipe is titled Crispy Buffalo Ranch Chicken salad with Goddess dressing – and being that I am a goddess 🙂 I had to see what the ingredients are all about. I do love Buffalo Ranch chicken salad to start with and order the option at any given U.S. restaurant if they are wise enough to offer it on their menu. So, the only difference is this recipe calls for the goddess dressing: INGREDIENTS 1 pound boneless chicken breasts, cutlets, or tenders 1/2 cup buffalo sauce, homemade or store-bought 1 cup Panko bread crumbs 1 tablespoon each dried chives and dried parsley 2 teaspoons dried dill 1 teaspoon each garlic and onion powder 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, more or less to taste 1 pinch each kosher salt and black pepper SALAD 2 heads romaine lettuce, shredded 4 carrots, shredded 4 celery stalks, chopped 2 Persian cucumbers, chopped 4 radishes thinly, sliced 1/2 cup fresh cilantro or parsley, roughly chopped 1 avocado, sliced 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese or feta cheese GODDESS DRESSING 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil 1 cup fresh cilantro 1/2 cup fresh basil 1 jalapeño, halved and seeded juice from 1 lemon  {more}  On another topic, recently an event I planned a few …

Lifestyle: Wedding Or A Great Milestone Venue

I went all out for the party on Saturday – with the most and the best of decor. Not bragging, just stating how much I enjoyed planning and executing the event. Since then, I’ve been fixed on more party planning,  and have already received a few phone calls to help organize a small wedding venue from the caterer, who I thought was kidding when she said she knew how to get a hold of me if need be. And naturally, the internet reads my mind and sends my way, topics geared towards whatever it is I am obsessing about – like this gorgeous wedding venue.   Also, would you consider wearing a colorful gown for your wedding?

Food: Dinner Tonight – Watermelon Feta Salad

It’s hot in San Francisco! Can you believe it? And us locals, although we love it, we also can’t handle the heat. Spoiled from the natural air conditioning throughout the summer months with heavy fog at the coast which we complain about the cold and the gray horizon continuously for three months  – but when we do get a few days of unusually hot weather, we complain again, wishing for cooler days. So for all the weirdest hot weather – I have decided to make a salad for dinner tonight. INGREDIENTS 4 cups cubed watermelon 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved 2 Persian cucumbers, diced 1 cup kalamata olives, pitted 8 ounces feta cheese, cubed 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar juice from 1 lemon 2 teaspoons honey 1 cup fresh basil, chopped 2 tablespoons fresh chopped chives flaky salt and black pepper {more} on another note – check out this beautiful outdoor wedding venue

Fashion: Bridal Gowns – Spring 2019

I just realized there are no upcoming weddings for 2019 in my family, or circle of friends. But these wedding gowns are simply perfect to cross over to a formal occasion, a celebration gathering or fundraiser event by the rich and famous. Can you see shades of royal blue, formal black, crimson red, even burnt orange?

Sunday Morning Edition – Is Purely for Entertainment

Slow down October! What’s the rush? I mean, I was in a department store the other day and walked past the holiday decor section, only to discover there are now holiday specific sections as follows:   All Halloween items on sale. Thanksgiving in full display and full-price and Christmas on pre-sale.  I had to step back for a moment and jar my memory about what day and month that it was. I don’t really like to shop for Thanksgiving or Christmas in mid to late September but I suppose everyone is doing everything they can to stay competitive with ETSY or otherwise online speciality sites offering up the most unique of decorations and in abundance. Anyway, just figured I’d throw that out there before I share the following:

Fashion: Semi-formal Wedding Dress and The Maid Of Honor

Over the years a few of my friends have thrown together a quick wedding – less than a month or so of planning. Not a shot-gun wedding. But a no-fuss, outdoor celebration of two people in-love and a simple lunch or dinner for a party of 20 or so afterwards.  So if that’s the route you consider taking this fall, or just need to attend an semi-formal wedding sometime soon…then go here:
