beauty article of interest or not

I tend to stay away from reading too many beauty articles. Mostly because I like to discover and create my own beauty regiment, and follow what works for me. God knows I’ve tried them all, brands, colors, application techniques, different regiments, and through it all I found what works for me personally. This is one area I feel isn’t shareable because everyone is different, and not all products work for any two people the same way. But since I also believe in mostly organic beauty secrets, like the ones my grandmother, and aunts used decades ago, I found this article simply delightful, and for sure something worth sharing. What are your beauty secrets? {photo and article credit click here}

summer time make up suggestions borrowed

I am not a make up expert nor do I claim any one brand over the other being the best. I’ve used the same brand for decades and since they evolve with time/or simply repackage, I stick with what I know best and that is them – the colors always subtle, the foundation perfect and the touch almost natural. So, I seldom try new things for fear of looking pasty or scary or too Kardashian-like since I come from the same makeup 🙂 overly covered up, often camera ready. But…I found some information from an expert and feel it necessary to share with my readers, running to the store over the weekend to invest in the regiment, suggested for use during the summer months.  (FOR FULL CREDIT ON THE ARTICLE, PLEASE CLICK HERE) The Five Step Summer Makeover 1. Instead of using foundation which is not always needed for the summer months, Giorgio Armani luminescence CC cream gives a light coverage and subtle glow with the added benefit of SPF 35.  Apply all over the …

how do women choose hair and makeup products?

I often wonder how women choose their hair and makeup products? I mean I circle department stores and small chain stores to study women’s reactions while testing new products or reading the back of one they have heard about and even exchanging opinions at the counter with those who have tried it before, but really what makes a woman finally settle on a product and stick to it, thinking it is the best thing for them? For example: I have used just about every makeup out there and tend to change the brand only when I sense the ingredients, which have been changed to “new and improved”, are no longer working for my face. As for hair products, I have also tried just about every shampoo and hair color out there based on of course what my hair needs are during different seasons throughout the year, as well as the quality my hair has become over the years. One thing, I have found, so far is, although I veer on occasion to try something different, …

fashion week – nyc 2013 – christian siriano

While traveling through Paris (Which I will cover shortly), I cannot help but focus more on fashion then anything else and since this is fashion week in NYC, I decided to share my favorites from Christian Siriano Spring 2013 collection from here:

inspirational woman over 40 – Ines de la Fressange

A woman who I have admired for a long time now, is of course a French fashion icon, Ines de la Fressange. I am not going to detail her bio on this blog entry, but will happily give you a link here  so that you can use it to get some background about her. The interesting thing is that, she became well known around the fashion world as a result of her connection to Chanel throughout most of her 20s. Anyway, she had written a book a while back titled, Parisian Chic, which I have picked up and read from cover to cover, just so I can truly understand Parisian women, their style, even more so than I already do, in order to satisfy my obsession with the French lifestyle, culture, and fashion. Of course the book validates the fact my core makeup and way of thinking and living  is French and I am very happy about that. The transition to living in France someday soon will be very easy for me. So, check out the …

valentino shoes for spring 2011

Designer shoes are not only inspirational but in essence have a way of making  a woman feel sexy no matter how emotionally unstable she may be on the inside. (Ladies, I say that with love). In light of this subject, I can honestly say I am not partial to any particular designer, I am however particular to the actual design and functionality of a shoe.  So, here we go, first stop Valentino Shoes and since I seem to have trouble with choosing just a few pairs of  the Valentino shoe collection  for Spring 2011, I have decided to include some of my absolute favorites and offer you a link to the website here, just in case you want to go crazy.

challenges of wrinkle creams

Here is a topic I have been avoiding for a while, but since those annoying wrinkles are beginning to creep up on me, I am no longer able to avoid the problem at hand. However, finding the right wrinkle cream is probably the most frustrating thing I have experienced in the history of my shopping endeavors.  I have visited every make up counter and spoken to dozens of make up consultants, I have surfed the net and  read  reviews on most any cream out there and yet, I am just not convinced any of them will  help nor  are worth the amount of money they cost. What I did do however, is compile here and here some sites of the most highly recommended wrinkle creams out there and I would love to  hear from anyone who has tried any of them and what you actually  thought about it?

new year lifestyle makeover

Normally around the end of a year or the beginning of a new one, people tend to reconfigure their life and lifestyles in an effort to make changes, which in essence will allow them to feel good about themselves throughout the New Year. It’s funny this behavior is almost automatic and whether we think about it or not, all of us participate uniformly and sometimes subconsciously. While searching online for various small or big changes people tend to make around the end or beginning of a new year are: 1.Get  rid  of old clothes and donate them to a worthy cause 2. Spruce up the house by either painting or redecorating a room or two. 3.  Contemplate a new hair do and/or color treatment. 4. Shred old or expired files and organize a new filing system. 5. Clean out linen closets and declutter a food pantry. 6. Shop for a new perfume or explore new make up options. 7. Get a message or a spa treatment 8. Purge computer and organize online photos 9. Get …
