Decor: The Power Of…

There are certain elements of decor that simply take my breath away, and has me smiling even through the most difficult of times. Also, I never realized how important it is to maintain this artistic expression site of mine I call Raw Silk and Saffron. So without much of words, I’ll share my thoughts {featured image source and full credit}

Decor: Much Admired Home Renovations

In light of the fact, we are still on lockdown, more so in the states, I am often times searching for inspiration for when I renovate my mother’s house. To create the sanctuary I feel is necessary to sustain the current lifestyle which could very well turn into a permanent one: Working from home, vacationing from the couch, and creating dining experiences throughout the house, mainly of course the dining room, kitchen nook, backyard/garden/patio. Here’s what I am pinning to my architecture/design/decor wall: So are you in the mood to renovate? If so what part of your home? {featured image full credit}

Lifestyles We Share

I think we can all agree and some may disagree that we have lots in common during this pandemic lockdown/half-lockdown/possible opening/maybe closing/much reservation in the season ahead – that we have found new ways to keep busy or distracted. In my case, updating the house, swooning over travel destinations, cooking, watching movies on various apps, and tapping into my artistic side – oh and don’t forget walking, lots of walking (which I used to do anyway) I’ve never been a fan of the gym. So this Thursday, while juggling a bathroom renovation, painting the kitchen cabinets to a lighter color – grayish-blue, and updating the bedroom, I am mostly focused on home renovations and what I am taking from each one: What’s got you distracted, or busy these days?

Decor: If Renovation Is Your New Year Goal

If  renovation – minor or major – is the goal for 2019, then you might appreciate what’s trending or simply just ideas to incorporate in your own style.   {Lake Tahoe home tour} – Screened in porch or outdoor dining – is the key in this wonderful home in Lake Tahoe as if from a fairytale   Bathroom’s might be the easiest to revamp in my opinion and this list of 80 suggestions are fun to consider   {featured image source}

Lifestyle: Architectural Interventions

While travelling I often marvel or frown upon the architectural interventions taking shape in every city and even in some unexpected towns across the globe.  I understand change is a good, and retrofitting is important to preserve the past and okay, even introduce a few modern takes on development – but I have mixed emotions about the idea of blending too much modern within the ancient. Sometimes, we can use a bit of nostalgia in this otherwise too technologically advanced culture of ours, where so much is being lost.

interior decor: eclectic styles

There is always room in my life to remodel or change the decor somewhere in the house, keeping life exciting and a little unsettled. I like that 🙂 and although some find my approach a little threatening, I think it’s refreshing. With that said, the latest interior decor likes I’d like to consider for my open space loft: {photo sources click here}

inspiring luxury living

One of my favorite things to do, on Saturday mornings, is to walk my dog through predominant neighborhoods in San Francisco and imagine how it would be to own one of those properties. In light of that fact, I often am inspired by the decor associated with luxury living. Here are some of my recent favorites.

interior decor: red, white and black

You know how they say, interior decor inspirations come from nature, well mostly that is. In my opinion, the ideas could come from almost anything and anywhere. The first time I visited Disneyland, I have to say I was completely mesmerized by Mickey and Mickey mouse’s color choices and since then I have always be infatuated with any decor which remind me of that period in my life. Can you see it below?
