Lifestyle: Best of Coffee Across America

This morning while commuting to work, a woman got on the train and sat next to me and all I could focus on is the beautiful smell of coffee, and from the to-go cup, I couldn’t tell who and where she got it from. It didn’t smell like Starbucks or Pete’s but a brew so unique, I am kicking myself for not finding out what it was. On Friday while walking to the neighborhood grocers, I noticed a long line in front of a mom-and-pop coffee shop where my mother gets her blend especially made, and the beans bagged on the spot, and I smiled at the sign proudly announcing how they have been a neighborhood coffee house for over 50 years, and to be truthful, a part of our family for just that long. All this got me thinking about coffee shops, and how is it that they thrive no matter where. Of course opening up my own coffee shop has been a dream for the longest time and until then, here’s the best …

My Thoughts This Morning…

I woke up this morning with thoughts of only one thing: Notre-Dame de Paris in the aftermath of the tragic destruction. A monumental house of worship for Christians, and a historical force which has brought millions of visitors each year to see first-hand how a structure that stood durable for over 800 years could have to this day, such a strong influence on culture and belief. I don’t think I have to tell anyone who’s been there and seen Notre Dame de Paris, how transformed we sensed ourselves to be by the magnificent house of worship, which still stands tall – no matter the severity of the destruction that spiraled out of control on April 15, 2019. Faith is a huge matter – in all sorts of difficulties; we must believe through every bad, there is some good, and in every good, there is the idea of rising above it all. I believe wholeheartedly, that Notre Dame de Paris has proven to us once again, that no matter what, believe, stay strong and embrace unity. …

Let’s Talk Entertainment

I have a habit, where when I watch anything on television, I need to google the story behind the story or the actor’s bio to get a better understanding of how things led to this particular project. Although this behavior can be a bit annoying, I know that most people can relate. So this morning I though maybe I can share what got me interested in the story behind the story: {source for featured image}

Sunday Edition: Topics Of Interest From Around The World

I am finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel, in terms of this bug/flu thing I managed to get caught up in this past week – the entire event being kicked off by a stiff neck,  followed by an achy body, fever, headache and a huge knot in my throat, or more like a piece of rock lodged in the worst possible way, causing all kinds of havoc on my body and soul. Since I am so aware of my health, I noticed this time around, I had the worst stomach pains also – which got me thinking perhaps this was a combo flu – or a virus that was thoughtful enough to attack all of my organs. Anyway, the way I know I am feeling better is that I wanted to actually get on my phone and dabble in paint-by-number app, and then one thing led to the next and here we are – with a list of interesting topics I want to share with all of you – cooped up …

Lifestyle: In Touch With Reality

Some days I step off cloud nine to focus more on the realities of life – you know – to help adjust my being to accept the things I cannot change, and to change those that will help me become a better version of myself. And although with age, comes wisdom, there are times, the opinion of others are needed to add  reassurance in whatever it is that is paralyzing: One of the things I realize more each day, is just how much we’ve all become a ticking bomb – ready to go off on the smallest of mishaps, unfortunate change of events, and other things that is not in the plan. Just the other day, two men were screaming from their car at an elderly woman trying to pull into a parking spot. They wouldn’t let up, causing her more confusion and difficulty in parking.  How to be a more patient person is the topic of this article.    A sanity checklist is helpful of course – especially when dealing with the worst case …

Easter Eggs Are Sometimes Luxurious

…According to this article I found yesterday, and although I haven’t really painted eggs for quite some time, I have the urge to embark on the project come the week before – you know adding my own take on the luxurious eggs below: On another note – have you ever watched a show that makes you laugh throughout? Well, this show has me in stitches with every scene. Would you ever consider taking an art class online? I am thinking about sketchbook Illustration…and I think it’s going to happen very soon.  What are you reading lately? If you’ve just finished a story or two, and are looking for a new read, consider this list of must-reads I recently took an online quiz to test my IQ or rather for the internet to guess my education level. I have to say I was dubbed as having PhD level knowledge but for the life of me, cannot seem to locate the quiz again.  So, here’s one similar that you might want to try – oh go on …

Lifestyle: Less Is More

Over the weekend, I scanned the house again to make a mental note of all things I need to get rid of – more purging or downsizing I feel is warranted the wiser (older) I get. Clutter is out, and streamline and less is more. Believe it or not, a simpler decor tends to fool the eye into seeing the space clean at all times. It also helps ease off the daily stress – when you walk into a home that is minimal. {source} {source}
