Weekend Recap and A Few Thoughts

The topic of conversation during one of the most beautiful weekends in San Francisco – meaning lots of sun and warm weather – which is highly unlikely during the summer months. Anyway, the topic was – would you buy a mask in all sorts of color and my partner in crime instantly shook his head to imply not a chance, he would stick to only black. Which was the original mask I ordered online at the start of the COVID wear a mask don’t wear a mask debate. I do wonder though, if perhaps buying a mask that best expresses a person would actually force them to wear the mask? Anyway, past the mask the weirdest attention we received during our walk about the park was – us carrying a pizza box from the corner pizzeria to the park for lunch and having families point it out to their kids. 🙂 Besides the walks and FaceTime talks with family and friends, I watched movies of course – like most of us and did a few …

Lifestyles We Share

I think we can all agree and some may disagree that we have lots in common during this pandemic lockdown/half-lockdown/possible opening/maybe closing/much reservation in the season ahead – that we have found new ways to keep busy or distracted. In my case, updating the house, swooning over travel destinations, cooking, watching movies on various apps, and tapping into my artistic side – oh and don’t forget walking, lots of walking (which I used to do anyway) I’ve never been a fan of the gym. So this Thursday, while juggling a bathroom renovation, painting the kitchen cabinets to a lighter color – grayish-blue, and updating the bedroom, I am mostly focused on home renovations and what I am taking from each one: What’s got you distracted, or busy these days?

Home Decor At Its Best

I went on my normal or usual walk on Saturday across the city, towards Pacific Heights, and as always, marveled at the beautiful architecture and renovation projects taking shape in the neighborhood. One home in particular that stood out was the same I saw in a magazine, showcasing the perfect interior renovation – which I often do wonder about – the inside of each home and choice of design and decor. And here’s a glimpse into the interior of this wonderfully old Victorian home turned modern on the inside. Or how about you take the video tour here and see the spectacular renovation project Do you ever walk through neighborhoods in your neck of the woods and wonder about renovations taking place?

Decor: Home Is Where We Are

Although many states, or countries are lifting the shelter in place to boost moral, moods and the economy, I am still considering staying more at home, and focusing on projects around the house which will certainly boost moods or moral if done as suggested in these topics of decor interest on this Wednesday. {featured images and article full credit}

Tuesday Beautiful Things

June gloom is how Californian’s see this month – due to the relentless heavy fogs along the coast and sometimes even inland. Surprisingly, we had a few gorgeous days at the start of the month, so we took to the streets, parks, and sandy beach walks soaking it all up. Today, the fog has rolled in as expected, and we are once again indoors, wearing sweaters and socks and all things winter related. For this very reason, I felt the need to share some beautiful things to help stay focused on positive thoughts… {featured image source and credit here, here, here, here}

Decor: A French Riviera Home

Dreaming of owning a home high on a hilltop, say somewhere along the French Riviera? I do. Actually, anytime a film is made along the French coastline, I stop and watch, no matter how cheesy the story, like this and this film. So, naturally, I did a stop and watch with this amazing home tucked somewhere high above Cannes and had to share my admiration of the craftsmanship. The decor is truly in line with the environment, sixties inspired. The view isn’t bad either. featured image and source full credit

Decor: High Rise Masterpiece

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Monday. Hope you had a lovely-enough weekend. I did nothing the entire weekend, except nurse a few really serious mosquito bites inflicted upon my body at the battle of my backyard on Wednesday last week.  Even through repellent, those annoying beasts feasted on me as if they’ve suffered a famine of sorts during COVID. So, as always, I am easing into Monday – with some beautiful decor style from a high-rise apartment in New York – which by the way, if I were to live in a glass-house such as this one in San Francisco, this is what it would look like. What style of home do you prefer?

Decor: We Don’t Have to Agree On Everything

Home decor is naturally based on one’s taste in how to create the most comfortable home while personalizing it to express one’s artistic qualities – was my thought process this morning, while taking part in four back-to-back zoom meetings for work. Yes, I often feel my brain wandering off to elsewhere during repetitive meetings or those not very well presented. But onto the decor I was referring to and parts of this home, I would love to see in mine. what has you feeling the need to escape the mundane?

Dinner Plans and Discussions About Small Spaces

What’s for dinner is the topic of discussion every morning when I run upstairs to my mother’s house and help with breakfast. She says good morning, I say hello, and she says, so what’s for dinner tonight? I mean I know you are working from home and I don’t want to bother you, but what are the plans for dinner? and I look at my watch. 🙂 Then I go downstairs to my home-office space and search frantically for a creative meal that she would enjoy also. Because the last thing I want to hear when I ask her how dinner was, is  – oh its fine – meanwhile I’m having seconds. So, for dinner tonight – we are having  this recipe for eggplant Parmesan – did you know male eggplants are better tasting then the female since they have less seeds? I didn’t know, but learned it now.   Also technically, my eggplant Parmesan will be more of an eggplant lasagna – since I will be adding pasta-lasagna in between the eggplant and cheese layers. …
