Travel: All About Off Season

I found a great airfare online early February and decided to book my flight – to leave a month later. I just couldn’t resist the price, and later when booking my hotels I found the same perfect deals. I was excited and couldn’t wait to pack and leave the US for a three-week journey to the UK mostly and a few days in Paris. I arrived on the 3rd to London and was cheaffeured to friend’s house in a town an hour and half away from the Heathrow. Although I was very tired from the eleven hour overly warmed aircraft for the comfort of only those that love a stuffy space to sleep, I looked forward to the conversation I had with my driver. Don’t get me wrong I am not a snob in any sense of the word, and a cheaffeured drive is a norm to get me to the said town, my friend would rather I leave unnamed. Friday was a rest day, because early morning on Saturday we would drive to Stratford-Upon-Avon our …

Lifestyle: Where In Italy Should You Actually Live

I was on the bus the other day and while thumbing through my iPhone, I noticed an add about a book published in 2012, titled Turning Tuscan: A Step-by-Step Guide to Going Native and as you know I had to see what this is all about. I ordered the paperback and until it arrives for me to dive right into about the dream I have of living abroad somewhere, I share  with you places I have been and: Where In Italy Should you Live 🙂

Travel: Articles of Interest for the Avid Traveler

I’ve put all articles pertaining to travel on the shelf or in the blogging world – in draft mode until…well, the holidays were over. I figured the only reason at this point people want to travel is to get to their families for the holidays, and only a handful have planned a winter-some places summer getaways the weeks in between December 24 to December 31st. Ok. Long story short – here’s a few interesting articles for those of you who simply cannot get enough of travel articles in between the vacation planning:

Travel: Winter Season and All

I realized this past October while in Europe – that there is no off-season to travelling. People travel throughout the year – with their kids and without. I often wonder about the ones that do travel with kids during school season. But to each his/her own. Anyway, just in case you are considering a getaway this winter season – here are some suggestions: And last, the featured image suggests there are 17 Most Romantic Winter Destinations in the US – to get a glimpse click here

Travel: For the Solo At Heart

As you may know that I travel very often – and most of the time I do it with someone. Whether the hubs, or friends or a group I’ve put together – I am never alone. This past trip – in October – which I have yet to share with all of you but couldn’t because  upon my return, there was an air to the nation, a sort of daunting pre-election jitters, compounded by the results and the aftermath, and just as the dust is settling (hopefully-perhaps I am out of touch) we jump right into the holiday season – Thanksgiving and all the planning that goes with it. So, until I can share with you all of the wonderful discoveries I made on this trip. I have been reading articles about travelling every chance I get. You see, while on the plane back to San Francisco, I found myself toying with the idea of travelling alone – at least once, and this article seems to be encouraging me along:

Lake Como – In Two Days

After my Rome-Florence-Venice portion of the perfect travel I think I have organized for my group is a stop in Como, Italy. We arrived mid-day on Saturday last, and checked into our hotel – only for a few minutes to freshen up and change into our walking shoes. We had to take the funicular up to the highest point in Como to see the spectacular views for only 5.50euro roundtrip. This can’t be missed no matter how long the lines. Dinner followed after that, along with a bottle of wine and the perfect conversations before we turned in. The next day we would spend on the lake, with an all-day pass to visit some of the small towns or villages perched along the heavenly lake. Since we were pressed for time I selected three stops. Menaggio, Varrena and Bellagio. I fell in love with Menagio and considered for the three hours I was there to live in the quant town. Varrena was a stop for lunch and a stroll through the cobblestone village and then a 15 …
