At least to me. I decided to start the new year talking travel – my favorite subject and something I wish I can do the entire year. So, without much delay, here are the top travel destinations for January – or February – if you decide you need a week or two off to recover from all the holiday stress, or planning a romantic getaway for Valentine’s Day or simply getting married and need a wintertime honeymoon destination.

I normally sleep with my window open. I’ve done it for years. The crisp air, sometimes chilly and other times just warm enough helps me get a good night sleep. The only nights I struggle to get to sleep is if I’m in a place, a hotel or someone’s house, where I cannot open the window. Those are the nights, I toss and turn and count the hours until the morning. Do you sleep with the window opened? When we bought a house in Sacramento in 2002, I did everything I could to make the house a home. But it fell short of the concept because at the time my hubs and I commuted to the city to work, which meant we were hardly ever in the house. It was then I realized that we needed to sell the house and move into a ‘home.’

I have yet to experience an Airbnb during my travels. Meaning to clarify, since my travel planning days, I opt for different hotels to spend my time, so that I can provide an honest review about accommodations to my former clients, and friends and family. But this list of luxury Airbnb options got me thinking about the milestone birthday celebration I am planning for myself in 2020. Naturally, there is a more budget-friend option out there as well to consider these vacation/holiday rentals.
I sometimes wish I could get a visual on the inside of my brain – you know kind of see how in the world I manage to compartmentalize all the SCHTUFF. You know, from every day life to what is going on worldwide and then the topics I wish I could comment on but would rather just keep my opinion to my self – just to avoid a backlash. Isn’t that silly. The fear that in the country where we are encouraged to speak our minds, I am more inclined to keep my ‘political’ opinions to myself then shed a certain light on the less informed or the ignorant. So, I chug along and instead focus on the fun topics, even while inside of my mind I am brewing with all sorts of opinions. So, here’s to a handful of topics that are fun – and light and hopefully will calm all those stressed out or anxious over real or fake news streaming across the society control panel, I mean the internet.
I feel as though the World Cup 2018 snuck up on me this year – I suppose since having been away for a few weeks, I think I’ve lost track of all sorts of events. But nevertheless, I have established who I want to see win this year – but for the moment I will keep it to myself.
