Fashion: High Rise and Skinny – In Jeans that is

Here’s a pair of jeans I have ordered from here and am currently waiting to see how it will fit my requirements for high-rise plus skinny jeans. I’ve tried them all and since my legs are too shapely 🙂 – I cannot for the life of me wear skinny jeans comfortably or be very comfortable in them. Don’t know why I felt the need to share this bit of detail-on this lazy Sunday morning, but I did. Do you have a favorite pair of jeans?  Come on play along.

Lifestyle: Interesting Finds Online – vol 1

Happy Friday! I say this because we made it through our first work week for 2016. And with that in  mind, I share with you some interesting finds online I stumbled upon at 4:00 a.m. when I woke up suddenly and decided to go over the checklist for the holiday party I am coordinating this evening for our company. So I figured while I run around today, organizing the last-minute details, making sure vendors show up and so on…I leave you with this. {photo credit for happy family}

At The Start of A New Year…

  So much is going on, and in a way I like it. I enjoy busy. A calendar full of events and chores and such, taking up most of January for me. We are starting the new year with a company party, happening this Friday in the city of course, at an old classic hotel near Union Square. Details of which I will mention after the fact. I’ve been busy with the last-minute details, play coordinator-host to a 200 plus gathering of co-workers. The program for the evening cocktails, dinner, raffled gifts and dancing. This is the only time I get to see my co-workers in formal attire. Normally at a software dev company in San Francisco jeans is the norm, a Giant’s cap if you happen to be  a fan, and a funky T-shirt expressing something not offensive to anyone. Saturday I begin my training for the Superbowl 50 volunteer program. Yes, I have volunteered to work during the weeks leading to and including the Superbowl.  San Francisco as you may know plays host …

Fashion: New Year, New Office Look

My picks  from here – which  I’d like to incorporate in my usually casual work-wear. By that I mean, jeans mostly and some sort of layers. Except lately more  sweaters. It’s been cold and rainy in San Francisco this year, and I’m loving every minute of it. But sometimes I wish my job required me to dress up, in this fashion that is:

A Year In Review From This Blogger – 2015

Another year has gone by. And we are all right back where we started. Setting new year resolutions we wish to achieve. Losing weight in America always a priority, possibly getting a better job, or finding that special someone, or even leaving the one you are with, hoping to find happiness in the most unusual ways. And then there are weddings to attend, babies to be had, and unfortunately loved ones to lose – all of them realities of life. Coping, and finding solutions is the best way to move past the unforeseen. Planning and being organized is the way to deal with the known. Saving ahead and strategizing is surely helpful when seeking a new career. And as for love, relationships or marriage, that is something that requires nurturing, compassion, and determination to make it happen and to keep it lasting. These are a few things I plan to keep in mind well into 2016. In the meantime, I want to share with you my 2015 :

Cocktails, Board Games and Comfy Sweats

This year we’ve decided to stay home for New Year’s Eve. Actually, let me re-state. We will drive up to near Tahoe and stay indoors with family and friends. Mostly in our sweats, experimenting with a variety of drinks each one of us were asked to make this year for the group. Board games a must, trying to stay away from all things electronic as much as possible. (Let’s see if it will work) The part about staying off our smart-phones. Anyway, I found a list of drinks I’d like to make and just in case you are planning the same sort of celebration, mostly welcoming the new year within the comfort of your own home – then feel free to explore these and many more options:

Trend: New Years Eve Hair

I saw this hair style on a bartender at the Cheese Cake Factory on Union Square, days before Christmas, while grabbing lunch in between Christmas shopping. And I fell involve with it and although she and I spoke for a bit about the ‘how to’ she used to achieve such an amazing look – hers was a little better – I could not for the life of me figure out the technique until:
