What Are You Doing This Long Weekend

Well, I know this only applies to the states, the long weekend and all, but the idea that Fall is just around the corner has me wanting to be outdoors as much as possible – before I settle into the comfort of my sofa, watching too much television and doing the much reading I put off all summer long. Have a great weekend – three days or two, make the most of it.  Oh and if you happen to be near… {source} And the winning recipe for this weekend is Pan cooked Hawaiian Pineapple

Travel: Top Restaurants From Around the World

I seriously could not decide what category to place this article under – Food or Travel?  Because if you happen to be lucky enough to live where the top restaurant is located, then it’s a food topic, but if you happen to be travelling in the near future and want to know the best of restaurants to go to – then it’s a travel topic – I suppose either way, it is a win-win to have access to this list of top restaurants:   And oh, I have highlighted the restaurants in San Francisco for your convenience 🙂 and maybe we can meet up for dinner there – you know, when you get into town… 1. Mirazur (Menton, France) 2. Noma (Copenhgagen, Denmark) 3. Asador Etxebarri (Atxondo, Spain) 4. Gaggan (Bangkok, Thailand) 5. Geranium (Copenhagen, Denmark) 6. Central (Lima, Peru) 7. Travel: Cornwall, England Did Not Disappoint

I fell in-love with Cornwall in May 2018, after carefully spending a month before planning a trip there. The thing about Cornwall is that it is best experienced driving and since I have family living in England, this option was a simple matter of getting them to take me around in a car, the incentive, an all-expense paid week long holiday. You see, I am not yet confident in driving on the other side of the road in England – being an American and all. But after the six plus hours it took us to get to a destination which normally – or on American roads – take about two hours for a 200 mile drive, in this case from near London – Cornwall did not disappoint. Sadly, the destination is a place I know I need to discover again, in great detail – because normally the first trip anywhere is just touching up on the surface of things and only staying in touristy areas. Next time it will be beaches and more breaches…where the …

Travel: What You Might Want to Know – If It’s Your First Trip Abroad

I was excited to discover my first cousin has taken his family to Europe for the first time – and while they Instagram their trip, I smile at the thought of how excited his three daughters might be for experiencing something outside of the norm. So, while on the train commuting into the foggy downtown-San Francisco, I decided to compile a few interesting topics to cover what you might want to know if it’s your first trip abroad: And just in case you have trouble deciding how to pack for your first trip – here are some interesting of tips

Travel: Where to Go In August

I normally travel to Europe off season or end to a season or the beginning to a season. Meaning May or Mid September through October – not so much for the great fares and hotel rates, but rather for the quiet before and after the student travelers have passed through the continent. But this list of best places to travel in August can also carry through the end of October just fine, I know, I’ve been there: {featured image} Also this How To article had me smiling – my favorite: How To Sleep Like A Pope In Rome

We Might Enjoy The Same Things…

Since the 4th of July holiday in the U.S. – this is by far the longest weekend since Thanksgiving. Meaning some companies in the U.S. were generous enough to offer up the day after the holidays as a holiday+ – extending to the weekend.  Retail isn’t so lucky, or maybe they are, depending on how we look at it – this is going to be one of the biggest sales weekend and the deals are amazing, take a look here  But as usual, those of us San Francisco locals who decided to spend the holiday at home, have the heater on, and covered in blankets know we won’t be getting a glimpse of the fireworks, thanks to the usual fog covering most of the bay. Thinking Global In Topics

Not everyone celebrates July 4th – sometimes not even the Americans, so I figured I’d share topics for everyone who continues to  join in on all the fun at Raw Silk and Saffron. But before I do, I have to say, I have no specific plans to partake in the holiday this year, but I am hopeful that at the very least the fog will stay at bay in San Francisco, just enough to enjoy the fireworks around the Golden Gate bridge which I am fortunate enough to see if I walk down a few blocks from my house.  And maybe, I’ll grill a steak and have some corn on the cob and  watermelon 🙂 – okay I’ll wear red-white-and-blue too. Anyway, lets proceed to the more interesting topics – speaking of grilled steak…
