Saturday Edition – Home Decor and Alarm Clocks

Normally on Saturdays I don’t post much about anything because I feel this is the day we need to take a break from all things internet. But I got a burst of energy this morning and felt that I needed to share a few things that’s in the back of my  mind or yours about home decor/revamp/refresh for the upcoming holidays, or realize like me you need a new nightstand clock – even though yes, we can use our smart phones, I prefer some things to remain traditional. Then there is the idea of buying luggage, for that off-season travel you might be planning like me or even trying out a new dish or bake something with apples – after all it is the season for baking. So, for all those things in common we may be having today, here’s what I have to share:

Easter Eggs Are Sometimes Luxurious

…According to this article I found yesterday, and although I haven’t really painted eggs for quite some time, I have the urge to embark on the project come the week before – you know adding my own take on the luxurious eggs below: On another note – have you ever watched a show that makes you laugh throughout? Well, this show has me in stitches with every scene. Would you ever consider taking an art class online? I am thinking about sketchbook Illustration…and I think it’s going to happen very soon.  What are you reading lately? If you’ve just finished a story or two, and are looking for a new read, consider this list of must-reads I recently took an online quiz to test my IQ or rather for the internet to guess my education level. I have to say I was dubbed as having PhD level knowledge but for the life of me, cannot seem to locate the quiz again.  So, here’s one similar that you might want to try – oh go on …

All Things Holiday Series

Since I’ve been away for a few weeks, my mind occupied otherwise, I haven’t posted much here. But while walking about here and there, and sitting down for a cup of hot tea between appointments and meetings, I can’t help but overhear folks updating one another about where they are with their Christmas to-do list: You know, gifts, decorating, dinner plans or not, and even a family holiday to some exotic destination – these topics are the norm right about now. So I figured I’d add to it.

Holiday Series: Decoration Trends for 2018

Not a minute past Thanksgiving, in the United States, do the residents of this nation run to the malls for – what is known as black Friday shopping – for deals and ideas on Christmas decor and gifts and even a few goodies on deep discount for themselves. I remember the frenzy when I worked retail, the mall opening at the crack of dawn and the crowds rushing about to be the first at grabbing all things on display. I was very young and found the whole exercise amusing then, being behind the counter.  But now, it is a series undertaking – to commence black Friday at 6 p.m. the night before, right after the family Thanksgiving dinner.  I guess retailers realized not everyone honors the feast. So, in honor of black Friday or maybe even for those excited to get the holiday decorating started – here’s some ideas for 2018: And lastly – my favorite – advent calendar which is recommended for the man in your life but I find it the perfect unisex …

Sunday Morning Thoughts

I woke up early this morning. By early I mean 4 a.m. – usually because my dog is working on the old time – his clock being 5 a.m. and ready for his breakfast. I don’t mind, he’s aging and I am not going to try to teach my old dog new tricks. He is the king of this castle, and I am okay with that.  The first thing I did after his feeding, is grab my laptop and got back into bed. Actually fluffed my pillows and sat, in bed, aiming to write a post. Since I haven’t for a few days – thanks to having to shift gears last week, and working long hours to meet a demanding deadline. On Saturday I decided to drive down to Stanford and hang around the mall. I needed a bit of happy chaos, and to get ideas for the coming holidays. I knew that most of the mall would already be decorated for Christmas, with a bit of detail intertwined about the Thanksgiving holiday. The smell of …

Sunday Morning Edition – Is Purely for Entertainment

Slow down October! What’s the rush? I mean, I was in a department store the other day and walked past the holiday decor section, only to discover there are now holiday specific sections as follows:   All Halloween items on sale. Thanksgiving in full display and full-price and Christmas on pre-sale.  I had to step back for a moment and jar my memory about what day and month that it was. I don’t really like to shop for Thanksgiving or Christmas in mid to late September but I suppose everyone is doing everything they can to stay competitive with ETSY or otherwise online speciality sites offering up the most unique of decorations and in abundance. Anyway, just figured I’d throw that out there before I share the following:

So it’s your turn – is it? For that family, or friends get-together in your humble home. But after agreeing you realize – oh s**** the kitchen, and you either wish you could re-route the party to someone else’s home or find ways to spruce it up just in time for that amazing party you plan to throw. Especially for this girl who is all things French at heart:
