Travel: October Onward

Believe it or not this is the best time to travel – past the summer craziness. Airfares are reasonable, destinations are less crowded, and the cooling air make it a pleasant stay even the hottest of locations. So I am going to share the interesting of finds online regarding travel. Maybe I’ll slow down or stop in November 🙂

Travel: Ireland In All Its Glory

A friend of mine just came back from Ireland, and based on all the photos she posted through the usual means – Instagram, Facebook, I couldn’t help myself but hit like on her posts. So in honor of my friend and her husband taking their first trip together abroad and enjoying every bit of it, I share with you an article on my favorite Conde Nast Traveller magazine about the most beautiful places in this fair country of Ireland to jump kick your Monday or to heighten your wanderlust: And by the way, if you can’t take a trip just now, then consider seeing Leap Year available on Netflix right now to get you by. Have a good Monday everyone.

Travel And Other Topics

I don’t know what possessed me to watch Father of the Bride last night. The one with Steve Martin, not the classic tale from 1950 with Spencer Tracy.   Anyway, back in 1991 when the film was first shown, I watched it with a different perspective.  So, when I watched it again a few nights ago, the first thing that stuck to me was the opening dialogue – where Steve Martin’s character reflects on his life, family/kids, and the town they life – San Marino, California. Back in 1991, the thought of living in such a small town would have never crossed my mind watching a film. Instead I focused mainly on the fashion, and the decor aspect of the movie, and the cuteness of the storyline. But my mind was fixed on San Marino, and I quickly paused the story to get a glimpse of the small town and all information available online – making a note that on my next trip to Los Angeles, I would detour to the area and get a …

Boutique Hotel Picks – Most Beautiful National Parks – U.S.A.

I think Autumn is a great time to take a weekend or a few more days off from your day-to-day and just escape to any number of these beautiful ’boutique’ national park lodgings throughout the US.  I am excited that San Francisco’s Cavallo Point Lodge made it to that list:

Boutique Hotel Pick – The Hoxton Paris, France

Paris is always a good idea – no matter the season and with it, the collection of the most beautiful boutique hotels will sure make your trip the most memorable. The Hoxton is one I’ve fallen in love with from decor to the simple elegance of eclectic style. The accommodations I recommend  for first timers or addicts of the most romantic destination in the world:

Travel: California Wineries

In my opinion, February and October are the best months for the wineries in California – in terms of the beautiful photo opps.  February, thanks to the yellow mustard plants covering entire fields – the color contrast most welcoming against the bare blackened vines. October is harvest season, when the grapes are robust and deep variations of purple, and maroon, some even tranquil shades of green – intertwined with the changing Autumn colors of the leaves. So, naturally you have to plan a trip to California to see unique and some of the  most beautiful wineries: Sunstone Winery

Travel: Not the Same Old…

I can’t figure out in which order travel falls into my top three obsessions – which are: writing, photography, travel. OR. Travel, writing, photography. OR Photography, travel, writing.  But it’s up there and so with that said, I am again online searching for more, much more about travel. In this case, not the same old ideas (hopefully).  Enjoy your Sunday afternoon read:

Travel: Past the High Season

Enjoy your eclipse sighting – if you happen to be the fortunate few who can actually see it. Now, pas the eclipse sighting, I also realize most everyone is pre-occupied with back-to-school or sending their kids off to college or first days of pre-school. But the great part of this season, past the sentimental parents, is travel. This is the time I add the final touches to my usual September or October travels to Europe. So, if you happen to be not so busy with anything else, you might enjoy these travel topics:

Travel: Where To Go In September

I always plan my travels for September – because I feel it is a great month to experience the best of weather, the least of crowds, and the locals not as stressed with tourists as they are during the summer. With that said, here and here are two lists of some of the best places to travel in September: {featured image: Barcelona, Spain}

Travel: Picturesque Small Towns In Italy

My mother gives me a look every time I tell her I am going to Italy. She thinks I’ve explored the country way too much, not realizing that there is more, much more to this wonderful destination. And to prove it, I have listed some of the smaller towns I plan to explore the second I have enough guts to drive a car there:
