Culture: Recommended Reads for June and Beyond

I buy the best of novels in European bookstores, particularly in Paris (believe it or not). I return for a dozen paperbacks and place them all on my bookshelf in the not-yet-read pile. Picking and choosing each novel based on my mood and need for inspiration. For my own writings. So, here’s the list, and here’s my picks to add to the pile of books to read in 2016:

I Don’t Just Promote My Novel…

There are so many books out there I want to read, and for 2016, I have added my favorites (below) which I plan to read while travelling. Because the rest of the time, or in between travels,  I am going to be  releasing  (mid-Spring) and promoting  novel 3  and completing the first draft for novel 4 by year-end. The list of 2016 books to watch for written by women authors according to Bazaar Magazine is here. And my picks are as follows: This is of course in addition to my own novel here.

busy promoting my novels around the globe and a new look

I was in Europe for two weeks, then the Book Expo America in New York for a few days, and now in San Francisco making my rounds here and there to promote the novels I’ve written.  Although it may not be a solid excuse for not keeping up with my favorite blog here of course, it is the only one I have keeping me extra busy these days. At the same time all of this is going on, I am in the middle of designing a fresh look for rawsilkandsaffron.  So stay tune. I am excited to share with you soon the new look. Anyway, if you happen to be in San Francisco, by all means drop me a line, and we can connect at any one of these book promotion locations: I will be at the following events and locations in San Francisco in the month of June-July 2015. June 6th & June 7th at Union Street Festival – Chronicle Books from 1-2p.m. June 13th & June 14Th North Beach Festival – City Lights …

interesting finds online – volume 3

I read articles, hundreds of them always in search of that story, the one inspiring me or giving me ideas for my novels – plus I am curious, always wanting to learn more. Anyway, I decided to do a compilation of these finds on my blog a while back, hoping to share them with you. Here’s volume 3. Always remember to click on the photo to be redirected.

where to buy novels written by m.l.kilian

I’ve been asked via email if the novels I’ve written are available in e-book, or paperback version and where they are sold. As you know brick and mortar bookstores are disappearing, and the ones remaining (at least in the states) are the indie bookstores – most too small to house all books in print. So, my novels – Piazza Navona and Nob Hill are both available to order online – in e-book format and paperback. However, if you love a good bookstore like I do, then by all means go in person, and order the books to pick up from the store or have it shipped to your home.  Either option you choose, you will love the story: In addition, you can also order the paperback version through my shop here at a deep discount. And, if you happen to have read one book and weren’t sure if there was a part I or part II (depending on which you chose to read first) – then consider following my blog (click banner) to always stay …

interior decor with domino magazine

I love it when a company revamps their website for the better, thinking thoroughly about what they need to accomplish to stay competitive without sacrifying quality. I have to say, I was completely surprised and happy to hear Domino Magazine has made a comeback, IN FULL FORCE. They have redesigned their site, so that if you like something they used to create their tastefully unique decor, you can actually click and find the details of that particular product to incorporate into your own style of decor, eliminating all guesswork. I am inspired, inching even closer to what I need to acomplish to achieve my personal goals. Thank you Domino Magazine for filling my head with ideas. {Click here to buy Domino’s Holiday edition}

interior decor and design: kitchen extraordinaire

Although I am a fan of simply white kitchens, I must admit I have grown to love this unique and extraordinaire kitchen. The only downfall is, if I had a kitchen such as this one, I would probably order take out food every day to avoid messing it up.  What do you think, is this your dream kitchen or simply a museum masterpiece?
