Since the fog held steady over the Golden Gate Bridge, we decided to explore Sausalito – not that we haven’t been a million times. But we figured since it was sunny, warm and we did not really want to drive too far inland, we would park in the small town and walk to Baker Beach, (opposite direction) and then detour to the highest peek in Sausalito, and walk the winding roads, while taking in the views from a different elevation.
So that’s what happened on Sunday.

From Sausalito to Baker Beach is a three mile walk, happily gave way to the dears crossing – in between taking in the breathtaking views. This is the view of the Golden Gate from Baker Beach – a reminder of why I leave the city in the summer months

Trail to Baker Beach – I simply cannot get enough of this view

Our walk back to Sausalito – felt as if we stumbled upon Lake Como in Italy.

up close to the water

We climbed to the highest point in Sausalito – naturally admiring the homes perched along the hillside

I can do this all day long – can you see the resemblance to Lake Como or anywhere coastal Italy
After the wonderful walk, we sat in the park down below and simply soaked it all in – before heading back into the extreme fog and cold – and put on our winter clothes while considering turning on the heater.
Lovely, it must be neatly twenty years since I was last in Sausalito so I must be overdue a return visit!
For sure – its a wonderful escape if your wanderlusting like me about Italy
Great post
Thank you – so glad you enjoying reading it
We did have a great day
