Let’s Start Monday Right

I hope your weekends were grand and that you had a chance to decompress from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Perhaps your Monday is just beginning where in other places it’s nearing bedtime or beyond. But since I live in San Francisco, and my day is just beginning, as usual with the commuter train experiencing delays, I sit in my car near the station and list down all the beautiful things I want to share with all of you this week.

Monday Off-Day Thoughts

The upside to being a writer is the fact, you can turn most any situation into a story. The downside is that – you cannot turn off your observation sense, in that you see every detail, hear too much and feel even more about all that is around and that emotion can sometimes be debilitating. This was my weekend. Now, to be fair, I am already titter-tottering on a slew of emotions, which usually happens  around this time of the year – Fall-ish, where I am not in the best place emotionally. Not sure why this happens?  But it does. To the best of us. So it is challenging to remain on course-the steady pace of happiness, positive thinking and perseverance when the environment all around is set in dismal mode. But such is life, and we must do our best to stay busy, challenge ourselves and dabble in creativity to help distract the otherwise bleakest of moods. Do you feel the same? Are there too many negatives people in your life? And how do …

Stay-cation in Full Gear and What’s On My Mind

I decided to take two weeks off from work to simply do ‘Autumn’ cleaning, and a few minor projects around the house.  I realized when I woke up this morning, while unable to breathe from the smog blanketing over San Francisco, due to the Napa/Sonoma fires, that our country has had one of the most challenging years so far in the 21st century.  Whether it is because of natural disasters, or otherwise, there is a certain, it almost feels, an incurable chaos, and madness taking  shape at an accelerated pace. And no matter how hard I try to avoid expressing my concerns on RS&S; I can’t get past the fact: If we don’t make a collective effort to put the breaks on, we are going to be the producers of our own demise. {source}

Lifestyle: What Not To Say At Work

I know, it’s Monday morning and you have the blues. Well, I’m here to tell you to snap out of it, and instead look forward to your day. Except this time, taking a new approach to being who you are at work so that your day and even week can flow nicely. Here’s the changes to consider: 1. If someone asks you how your weekend was? Stop yourself from telling them how hungover you are. Stop yourself from telling them about the one-night stand or any part of your sex life or lack thereof. Don’t discuss your marriage or divorce. or Brag about your upcoming wedding/planning. Instead Discuss an event or something fun that happened in your city How much you love the (insert season here) The results of a (insert your favorite sports team) game. A new restaurant you discovered or a show you saw 2. In a Meeting or at your desk or someone else’s work space Don’t bad mouth your boss. Don’t bad mouth your co-workers Don’t disclose-  how much you hated …

Coping with Anxiety and More

Let’s face it, all of us experience some form of anxiety at least once in our lifetime, or have issues with self-esteem or dwell on negative thinking and then we spiral into a depression or embark on some form of self-destruction.  It happens to the best of us. Coping with it all takes lots of courage and a level of maturity to consider how to deal with… Sometimes searching for topics relating to also help. Like these:   {featured image source}

adding some positive in your life

This week’s been a little strange. It happens – to the best of us. September usually is strange in general for me. That’s why I often take a trip this month to hide in Europe for several weeks, until October to be exact, to return when the leaves have nearly turned color, and the crisp cool air in the early morning hours and evenings suggest the season change – calming me. This year however, I stayed put, not going anywhere late summer since I have much to do. And then I realized, it was better to go away just as I’d done for years. So, please stand by as I readjust and recalibrate my to do list and goals so that by the end of the year, I feel more happy that I have reached a few goals, then be sad, that I haven’t reached them all.

the photo shoot in me

These days when I look at myself in photos, I nearly cringe  at the fact, I am no longer photogenic.  Call it age, or call it wearing my heart out on my sleeve. Photos don’t lie no matter how hard we try. So, while interviewing photographers a couple of months ago for a wedding shoot, I contemplated the idea of having a fantasy photo shoot scheduled for myself, where I could pose as such:  (I have put it on my bucket list. :))
