Theme for 2020 – Travel

There were no resolutions made on New Year’s eve, nor discussions about self improvement among the family members. No conversations about politics, or any issues outside of our simple existence – which was wonderful. Because the entire day felt surreal, and at midnight, we turned off all the lights, except the Christmas decoration lights, and watched the fireworks along the coast, from the comfort of our home. I couldn’t ask for a better way to welcome the New Year. I decided, just before turning in that 2020 would be the year of travel, and self reflection, and in line with that concept, I share with you my list from the ten places to travel in 2020. Travel: Beautiful Small Towns in America

Since my quick and dirty trip to Montana, mostly landing in Idaho, Utah, before finally Great Falls, I got to see not only the beautiful scenery, but also get a glimpse  of small towns settled between the majestic mountains and winding rivers.  This is a trip I’ve been planning for years, to explore the U.S.  Except I don’t know which season is best – Spring or Fall, which I think I am leaning more towards. Driving from one state to the next, in sections. North, East, South, since I’ve seen the west, time and time again. With that plan in mind, I’ve tagged this list of 50 most beautiful small towns in the U.S. and figured you might want to see for yourself some of my favorites and perhaps plan a similar trip.

Took a 24 hour trip to Montana Friday to Saturday for business and although I was to arrive on Friday by noon – thinking I can have dinner with family, I ended up experiencing all the construction taking shape in various airports on the western side of this country, trying to get to my destination – since my original flight from San Francisco, with stopover in Seattle to Montana went south.  I barely had time to wind down a minute Friday night only to fly back early Saturday morning, – meaning I had to be at the airport by 5 – so you figure the numbers. 🙂 By the time I opened the front door to my peaceful abode, I felt as if I had missed out on so much – in just the twenty-four hours I was gone.  Do you ever feel that way? We’ve had a couple of very hot days around San Francisco, to the point it was stifling. San Franciscans are never happy with our climate – too cold, too hot, too foggy, too windy. But it is what it is – global warming or not, we have seen the same pattern year in and year out. Doesn’t mean I don’t believe in global warming or are not concerned with all the issues surfacing across the globe, I am simply stating around this part of the world, we have grown accustom to the seasons. Today, after finishing up a conference call, working from home, since my beautiful dog isn’t feeling his best.
