Happy Thoughts Will Get You Through

Is emotional abuse still a thing in a workplace? I ask while watching everyone around me jump ship-if you will from their current state of employment. Each day as I log off from my remote day-job, I reflect upon how it all went down. Mostly the latest resignations, and terminations in the name of business decisions to take the company to the next level. I get it. I understand business, but still in my gut I feel sickened by the way the world is shaping up in the name of greed. In order to cope, and carry-on or remain balanced. I take five or ten minutes throughout the day to walk through my garden, or dance to a classic tune, or simply meditate. Even daydream about being in a far away place, simply soaking up the sun and the laidback lifestyle. For example… In Positano, lounged on a recline in a terrace here works just as well A stroll through the narrow streets of Paris Switzerland in the Springtime Would you…live in near isolation…if you …

Friday Interesting Travel Topics Online

My head is always in the clouds, or somewhere else from where I am currently, lounging perhaps poolside in a French Riviera resort or walking the cobblestoned streets through an English coastal town. So the search for travel topics let me down this road: The private village of Clovelly in England, which charges a fee to visit. Egypt’s city of El Gouna doing their best to be mindful of the environment is worth a read for like minded folks such as myself The wonderment of the Aztec civilization history is one I will always share here. While enroute somewhere do you watch for signs that announce the places you have left and the place you have arrived? I remember once in Europe, I crossed a bridge on foot connecting one small town in France to another in Switzerland. Can’t remember where it was, but felt insanely invigorating doing something like that. In light of the curiosity, I am sharing this article about towns crossing borders, or borders crossing through towns. Lastly, click away here for …

Sunday Wind Down

After a week of being off from all things work in the name of staycation and no social media, I am slowly inching my way back to reality. This perfect little workspace I adore Kitchen simpleness from here Excited to report I am back in the game after a long pause to heal a broken hand Aching for a trip to Cornwall very soon And naturally not a day goes by that I don’t find an interesting travel article, and one I cannot resist to share. Val d’Aran, a town in the Pyrenees {here} which stands on its own right even while part of France and/or Spain. What are you up to on this Sunday?

Film Location in Travel – France

The tricks and traits of filmmaking – is when a town location on camera is really more of multiple sites. Example: Hallmark’s Moriah’s Lighthouse – which caught my attention last night, while aiming to find a film I could actually escape from all things too real. Filming Locations (3). Ploumanac’h Lighthouse, Perros-Guirec, France (location). Hotel Castel Beau Site, Brittany, France (location). This is how I normally add destinations in my travel journal of places I need to see: First stop: the Lighthouse in Perros-Guirec, France The Boutique hotel: Castel Beau Site And finally a list of Beautiful Villages of France …where I plan to be immersed for a few months.

Travel Series – Reinstated

When I initially started this blog, it was simply to share all things travel. However, as we all know, 2020 put an unpredictable pause on the best form of escapism mankind has ever known. Fast forward to the present, and I am happy to report that the RS&S travel series is back, not just due to popular demand, but also to keep my head in the clouds while I navigate through some challenging times. Here’s how I escape during a distressing situation: Exploring the small villages perched along the shores of the Greek islands. Discovering Ireland one castle at a time Spending hours in a Parisian cafe with breathtaking views Paying homage to Piazza Navona (Rome) for inspiring me to write my first novel Switzerland…need I say more How do you escape?

Notes From The Week

The end of March was bit bittersweet because there were many ends to certain things and a few heartwarming moments. None of which I want to bore you with. Except maybe one happy event – my garden is starting to bloom and I am so very happy and proud of myself for learning the ins and outs of gardening on a slopped, sandy space. So here’s what I want to share for this week. All renovation projects for my household are paused at the moment, due to the ballooned cost of just about anything. But that doesn’t mean I can’t stop admiring and sharing an interesting decor find. I’d love to recluse here for the summer, is something you’ll always hear me say every time I come across a dreamy retreat. Interesting take on why a cold oven is best for pound cakes? is offered up here. More and more I am starting to read and research about travel. I had paused the habit back in 2020, and seldom brought it up in 2021. But …

Weekend Bound

Whatever plans you have for the weekend, I hope it gives you the tiny bit of joy or happiness, or simply distracts from all things unpleasant. But just in case… Last night while aiming to decompress from another stressful week, I opted to watch Netflix-The Parisian Agency . This is of course because I ached to live vicariously through those wealthy Parisians searching for their perfect home somewhere in France and even out. Note to self: Become a fashion designer and move to France. Inside the ethical beauty boom – article talks about the rituals we have established globally for self-care. I’ve been watching Netflix films from Spain. Naturally dubbed in English, but they have actually been super entertaining and somewhat enchanting. Not to mention I enjoy filmmaking techniques from different parts of the world. Having said that, this article about Spain’s white gold super drink had me doing a double take – considering how amazing Spanish cuisine is from all my travels to the region. I had to see what this was all about. …
