Travel: For The Adventurist at Heart

For some people the norm is boring – you know the week long island vacation, sipping a tropical drink by the poolside, or a 7-day museum pass for Paris to spend a week indoors, staring at art and then there is the pasta lovers trip that’s been overdone – according to some. So, if you fall into the category of sitting across your travel partner over Saturday morning breakfast asking yourselves ‘where to go?’ consider the following adventure geared, from this list for best 2018 travel destinations:

Healthy and Beauty: Yoga Right About Now

Parts of the weekend didnt’ turn out how I expected – with my stress level elevating to highs so out-of-control that my body simply shut down. This is of course stress upon stress of every-day life and  some not-so-normal  nonsense. I realized after taking a step back and deep breaths, that I needed to re-start my yoga classes – without coming up with a dozen or more excuses that I need to be elsewhere first taking care of anyone else but myself. So the first thing I did, was add a weekly reoccurring calendar reminder for Fridays at eleven in the morning for me to simply disconnect from my life,  and go do yoga, followed by deep meditation. And naturally the internet sensing my needs, added a site for amazing yoga retreats to consider, to keep the momentum going.  Here are the ones I am seriously considering: Located in Bali, Blooming Lotus Yoga Retreat is set in an island paradise. The retreat offers daily Vinyasa Flow classes, suitable for all levels, each morning. There are …

Travel: The Best Resorts In The U.S.

I love tourists, especially when I see them about the city (San Francisco) discovering the usual and some venturing out to the avenues to see the beaches, and hopefully a little of the city’s culture outside of the norm. I always feel like I should add my two cents when I see tourists on a street corner, with map fully opened, trying to figure out a bus route. I want to say, hey follow me to my neighborhood and try this restaurant or pub or simply take a walk through the blocks and check out the colorful homes perched along the streets. But I let them be, and only offer up advise when I am asked for direction 🙂 So, dear lovely tourist who are planning a trip to the U.S. – this article is for you – the best resorts in the U.S. for getting back to nature: For more go here

Travel: Behind Everything Familiar There Is A Story

Behind everything familiar there is a story worth reading up on, or simply educating yourself for when you are in a position that require small talk or a bit of trivia. Today these stories have sparked my interest and therefore I am sharing with those equally willing to expand their knowledge, or simply need a break from their hectic work day:

Here’s Making It Easier for You This Holiday Season

So much is going on right about now, mostly you thinking what to bake, what to pack, which dessert should you volunteer for and oh that outfit – everything for a number of holiday events you and your loved ones will partake in less than 10 days. If we’re really counting – it’s 8 days. Eight days remaining to the world’s biggest celebration – well perhaps outside of New Years.  Here’s what I’m suggesting:

Travel Series: Behind The Scenes – Vol II

A week ago I started a new series on Raw Silk and Saffron, to talk about what goes on behind the scenes, in terms of travel. I’ve always been curious to know or learn how some things come about, or the inspiration behind re-designing a city or even the methodology used to create, recreate, or put an end to what’s been in the past. So, in case you missed the first installment of the travel series, you can get a second chance here, and then stay tuned for more topics of interest to come.

Travel Series: Behind The Scenes

Sure, when we travel somewhere, we are mostly focused on what we see in front of us and seldom do any background information on sites or towns we visit. I mean current events or future plans research. Well, I am always intregued but evolution or remodel or updates or sometimes unfortuantely a bad decision in terms of a town, a city, or a country decides in their efforts to move forward. Anyway, here are some interesting behind the scenes stories that I, as always, felt the need to share:

Travel: Well-Traveled Citizens

Good morning everyone! Hope your week is going well. Here in San Francisco we are in full-swing with the beautiful and HOT Indian-summer days. When we can finally wear our summer clothes or pretend we even own any here. Although this morning I did see a lot of people on the train wearing heavy coats, ankle boots and even gloves. And apparently today is going to reach the high 80’s. Anyway, Yes I am still talking about travel even in late September. I think I live and breathe the subject and will probably be talking talk about it all year long. Because as you know or may not, there is beauty to every season,  and if you happen to be an avid traveler like myself, the subject will always remain interesting. Here’s one I found this morning on Condé Nast Traveler, I felt the need to share:  About citizens of various countries who are considered well-traveled. These are facts based on the number of days and various other time off the locals get to do their …
