Tuesday Beautiful Things

June gloom is how Californian’s see this month – due to the relentless heavy fogs along the coast and sometimes even inland. Surprisingly, we had a few gorgeous days at the start of the month, so we took to the streets, parks, and sandy beach walks soaking it all up. Today, the fog has rolled in as expected, and we are once again indoors, wearing sweaters and socks and all things winter related. For this very reason, I felt the need to share some beautiful things to help stay focused on positive thoughts… {featured image source and credit here, here, here, here}

Travel: European Beautiful Villages To Plan To See

Last night I had trouble sleeping, especially when my mind was racing over a health related conversations I had with my mother, among the many other day-to-day. So I tried to take off the edge by focusing on some of my travels through Europe and eventually fell asleep with thoughts of Salzburg, and the Sound of Music tour I took in early 90’s. A friend asked if we are allowed to travel later this year, would I consider it. And my answer was yes and this is  the first trip I’d put together – a glimpse of five small European villages.   Where would you go from this list of European Villages {featured images full credit and source}

Friday Wrap And Here’s Hoping For Some Positive

I use this space to keep a positive outlook no matter how difficult  and challenging at time life can be.  I chose this way because we all seem to have enough of bad news every else, where the same awful topics are stretched in so many ways that we have a terrible time accepting what the truth is or are so consumed we don’t see the truth. This week, a few of my co-worker friends, who I’ve known for ten years, were laid off and it was reading their gut-wrenching farewell emails that got me to feel the need to express my sadness for the awful timing of it all and for their lives which matter past the health concerns rampaging our planet. To these wonderful human beings, I wish you much luck, patience, and positive thinking in that your futures will once again be bright. I am here if you need me, and I will always be thinking about you. featured image source

Travel: Some Facts Worth Learning About

Hello again!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend with family or friends. But took time to honor those in the military/veterans as we do in the U.S. over Memorial weekend. While we  wait for news about how and when we can travel, I figured I’d share with you something we did when I worked in a travel agency: Learn about interesting facts from around the world to share with our clients. Although, my days at a brick-and-mortar travel service is long gone; my desire to keep on learning has stayed on. Featured image and article full credit here

Randomness – But Good Topics For Happy Vibes

Some good things to know about on occasion,  or perhaps now much more than ever, to help us emotionally cope with our current environment.  Although I have adapted to this lifestyle, now going on nearly two months, some days I find myself very on edge. And then I turn to the positive, to help me through the most difficult of times. What feel good article do you want to share? Oh and by the way – Prince Philip {featured image full credit}

Happy Easter From Our Home To Yours

I watch my neighbors take turns in entertaining their energetic sons while in their backyard, in between home-schooling breaks. The husband would stand at the top of the stairs, scrolling through his phone while the kids play in the garden below, while on the alternating days, the wife rolls up her sleeves and actually makes the kids help her with gardening.  It’s an interesting watch from where I have set up my home-office. I find myself looking forward to their playtime, and then get sad on days when they are not outside – feeling all sorts of out of proportion. So no matter what is happening in your neighborhood, or lack thereof, spend today in appreciating  the smaller wonders in life – and have faith that soon life will be back to normal. {featured image source here and here}

A Burst Of Hope and Our Collective Love For Italy

I felt a burst of hope yesterday when, after standing in line for 40 minutes to enter the grocery store, I saw stacked cases of my favorite water. I thought it was a mirage, but I walked up and managed to secure  my two-per-cart cases of water feeling as if I were on top of the world. Baby steps. Don’t give up hope, we are going to get through this. Lately, or let’s just say, every year around this time, I experience much wanderlust-particularly anywhere in Italy. Funny thing is, I keep sharing photos of Italy with my loved ones courtesy of Instagram to up their moods, or maybe mine – with a note saying remember this? or can’t wait to travel with you here or  how about that restaurant in Venice?  What is it about Italy-time and time again, that I feel the need to include this fascinating destination to my annual travel plans. Except this year, it will just have to be an imaginary tour of what these editors have detailed here. Here’s …

Travel: Cotswolds On My Mind

Two years ago, I was fortunate enough to be driven around in England – you know – on the other side of the road, which I would never attempt – to travel through some of the most beautiful backroads to see  not only parts of the country that are frequented by tourists, but also the side not many travelers explore – unless of course they drive. The Cotswold became my favorite that year, and I knew it would be a destination I would include in my 2020 June travel plans – until of course… But you know what – even though we can’t travel right now, I still want to share this article which lists the prettiest Cotswolds Villages – wish I could locate a set of illustrations of the same villages  I bought 20 years ago at a street art fair, but sadly I think I may have sold them at a garage sale when I moved a few years later.

A Few Observations and Updates

As the shelter in place order was announced in California, I wanted to believe more humans were beginning to take the COVID-19 pandemic seriously, but it seems from the news and photographs all around, there are so many exhibiting otherwise. But what do I know, except that my family and I did our part in following the directive and stayed home – naturally FaceTiming the rest of the clan who live in far away places. Through the doom, I am trying my best to maintain a positive attitude – I mean, don’t get me wrong, by Friday I felt the worst version of myself, and could not snap out of it. I guess I was completely coming to terms with how things are going to be for a while and even afterwards.  This is how I usually am with most traumatic events in my life: Shock, denial, overly analyzing the situation, much brain-storming with family members and friends, and then calming down to rationally handle whatever life had thrown or in this case, is throwing …
