Travel: Day 2 – Bath, Somerset, England

After my numerous heart attacks, and white knuckles and the urge to throw up at every roundabout craziness known to  (most of) the world as driving on the wrong side of the road, plus  in our case, through the winding countryside roads in rain and high wind getting to Bath from Stratford-Upon-Avon, we finally arrived at ten in the morning and parked our car in the paid parking lot – hoping to grab breakfast and then sightsee about the town. My friend who lives in the ‘said town’ two hours from Stratford, was irritated to say the least, since this was the first time she drove outside of her comfort zone in rain and wind. Let it be known she is a temporary transplant from US to UK. Also note here that the last time I was in Bath was twenty years ago. So you can imagine my surprise seeing a town transformed into a modern version of what I had seen several decades ago. The first change was the added  boutiques and shops along …

Fashion: Spring-Summer 2017 Wardrobe

I was at the hair salon yesterday, and while getting a trim and color touch up, I couldn’t help but stare at one talented hair stylist, who not only dressed fashionably, but also very creatively added just the right tones and trim to her client’s hair that I just sat there and stared at her the entire two hours I was in the salon. Which got me inspired to search online for her fashion sense, and figure out how a gal like me could pull these off in a city as cold as San Francisco during the summer months.

Lifestyle: Habits to Consider Making Your Own

I’ve never hit the snooze button in the mornings and wake up the same time every day, even weekends. I insist on having a sit down breakfast, and I walk to the bus and climb stairs from the subway rather than opt for cars and elevators. Hot water in the morning with a slice of lemon gets me going, and listening to nature music helps give my day a calming start – even at work. Although I understand the details I mentioned above of how my life goes may not apply to those with small children or kids who live at home, but even then creating certain habits for yourself in the mornings keeps you in control (says me) and is the best way to start the day says this one article: Get Up Early: The idea of getting up early can make many of us feel tired just thinking about it, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned you should never do in the morning, it’s hit the snooze button. According to a report …

Today’s Mood – A Week In The South of France

Happy New Year! I hope the first four days of the year has been on a positive streak for most of you and if not, then hopefully things will begin looking up for you soon. While I recover from the nasty flu going around this year, I realize that I could use a week or two or three rightttttt here – the South of France somewhere, tucked away in a villa, with no social media, television or anyone reminding me all the worries in the world. Just for a week or two, that’s all

Focus on the Good of 2016…Is All I am asking

In the past few days with the untimely deaths of a handful of celebrity, people around the world have expressed how they can’t wait for 2016 to be over with since it’s brought nothing but heartbreak and disappointment, just to name a few. There are magazine covers depicting the death of 2016, articles equally heart-wrenching, and then there are the somber reaction tweets streaming across the globe – all of it causing me to shake my head at the mere idea of how we fixate on the negatives most. So I turned to the internet for some positives that happened in 2016 to help everyone understand that along with the bad, there is always some good. We just need to take a step back and reflect and be thankful for all the good the world and the people in it have done NO MATTER THE YEAR. Just in case we’ve forgotten what good came of 2016 this perfectly compiled list and some of my favorites will jar some memories and enlighten those focusing on only the doom …

Gift Ideas With ‘The Thought That Counts’ in Mind

I giggled at the title of this blog because…I was trying my best to describe this sort of gift ideas for the person who’s got everything and more and needs nothing. And the only gift is the one with the thought that counts. Although if you ask me these are very thoughtful gifts. {featured image photo click here}

Sunday Morning Conversations – Vol. 1

I love a slow start to Sundays. You know, the easy roll out of bed, a full on breakfast, and home brewed coffee. A conversation with your partner in life about the to-do list, which all of a sudden you find yourself not caring so much about. 🙂 opting to go for a long walk instead – when the weather is permitting of course otherwise lounging on a couch by the fireplace.  And there you discuss what you’ve found online over the course of the week, which had sparked an interest or two in you – and see his/her reaction and feedback. Kind of like this:

Gauging Our Emotions…Sigh

This past year the American people have been in a tough place – divided, silent, out-spoken, overly passionate, and downright scared of the unknown even while hopeful that the people who make up this nation would do the right thing – whatever that may be – come election day.    We heard the media, streamed twitter, and watched friend go against friend, family against family, people threatening anyone who is even thinking about going against voting for their choice of candidate – all of it pre-election. It’s been very difficult for me to stomach to say the least and certainly unable to tap into my creative side and maintain a blog based around all things happy and positive. Since the election and the outcome, I am so sad to see how the very folk hating everything the newly elected president stands for, behaving as such on social media, and everywhere else across America. Bullying, name calling, threatening, ‘de-friending’, accusing, denouncing anyone that has gone against what they stand for and believe in. What makes any …
