Travel: Beautiful UNESCO Sites For Your Viewing Pleasure

Right about now, the travel bug hits me and it hits me hard – and I start planning and strategizing my travels for this year, aiming at the very least  to include one of these most beautiful UNESCO Sites: {go here for the rest, and tell us if you’ve been to one or more of these destinations}

Lifestyle: Growing From Your Pain

Self-discovery is something we do, more so when we are faced with a traumatic event – such as losing a loved one, a job, an unexpected breakup, health issues, and even children acting out in ways so very unpredicted. The suffering we endure is the most traumatic and although most of us have gone through similar situations  at one point or another, there are no words that could ease the individualized hardship we face or have faced. I know in my case, the most I am told is ‘time will heal all wounds’ and yes it does, but what is the measure of time when coping with a traumatic event. A week, a month, a year, a decade.  The only thing that has helped me is that  I don’t look at timelines. Meaning to say, I don’t wait around for the universe to dictate if I am ready to grow from my pain and suffering. I simply do my best daily to distract, to pamper, and to move on slowly in bits and pieces. Sure …

Boutique Hotel Pick – Soho House – New York, Istanbul, Chicago

I sort of slowed down with my hotel picks over the holidays but I’m starting to get the itch to travel again – as I said many times before, if I could do it full time, I would without a second thought. But for now, traveling is spread across the year. But believe me the dreaming hasn’t stopped, where one day I can simply travel. Here’s a hotel pick – Soho House – New York, Istanbul, and Chicago, perfect decor, elegance, and charm are what come to mind for these home away from home hotels. And the history behind each building is something wonderful to read as well.

Benefits of Drinking Tea

A few weeks ago I made a switch to tea. Let me clarify – I do this several times a year. Meaning to say I stop drinking coffee and go for the tea variation from my collection from around the globe. Some I’ve brought home from my trips abroad and others from store bought.  What I am hoping for is that I don’t relaps back to coffee by the end of the year and feel the need to once again, reset the ‘tea drinking ritual’. This time I decided to do some research about the benefits of tea so it would help me stay on track. And  here is what I found: Tea has less caffeine than coffee – which works best for anyone with hypertension.  Tea contains antioxidants – which as we know is very beneficial to our functionality Tea may reduce your risk of heart attack or stroke – Again something to consider for those having to deal with high blood pressure and risk of heart related diseases. Tea may help protect your bones …

Travel: Behind Everything Familiar There Is A Story

Behind everything familiar there is a story worth reading up on, or simply educating yourself for when you are in a position that require small talk or a bit of trivia. Today these stories have sparked my interest and therefore I am sharing with those equally willing to expand their knowledge, or simply need a break from their hectic work day:

Interesting Finds Online: Disney’s Real Life Inspiration

I’ve been a fan of all things Disney for decades now and follow every story and news about the brand. Wishing, if given a change, to live a week or two each year in the original theme park, somewhere behind all the facade in New Orlean Square, or Main Street or Fantasyland. Nerdy or Geeky to some. But to me, it’s a way of staying in touch with my childhood, that I miss so much.  Of course there is also much love for all Disney classic films and with that, the need to learn all about the stories behind every tale produced by the mega-corporation that it is today. Like this one about real life places that inspired the Disney Films: So, here’s what comes to mind- that I need to plan a Disney location inspired trip across the globe to see in actuality the inspiration behind every inspiration. I mean since I am a writer and all, the trip is justifiable 😉 Also what is your favorite Disney movie? And if you are a …

Travel: Planning for 2018

My favorite topic and hobby is travel and so I think we best start discussing the subject to plan the most ideal getaways for 2018: Here’s a list of changes to be expected: Checking in will be a thing of the past. Robots will be there to assist you instead, In Flight Wi-Fi will improve. Biometric IDs will integrate, airports will become more pleasant, international travelers will have more choices, you will talk your way onto a plane, the gap between the front of planes to the back will become greater, comparing flight pricing will become more difficult (does this mean we would rely on travel agents again?)
