Fashion: Dressing for Vacation

Spring is here, and that means the start of the vacation planning, and for some pre-season getaways.  With that concept, I am searching high and low for the perfect summer dresses, this year opting not to settle on wearing shorts and a T-shirt, unless I plan to take a hike (literally) or go to the beach here and here, and here.  You guessed it, I am going to Los Angeles. Here’s what I am thinking:

Lifestyle: Taking Lessons From Italian Women

Over a decade ago the hubs and I took our first trip to Italy, starting in Venice.  Someone at the train station suggested we hop on a water bus to get  us to our hotel since we had no idea what we were doing-fresh out of college. We took the bus, and on it was a woman dressed so perfect-sensual that we found ourselves staring at her in awe. In Rome the same thing happened, women here and there  in cafes and restaurants  dressed very Sophia Loren chic, with the perfect tan, and hair, and fitted skirts and scarfs and red lipstick. I was fascinated, but very certain I  would never be able to duplicate any of it back then, and not even now. When I found  this article, it reminded me of my trip decades ago, when I first discovered the sensuality of Italian women and their fashion. The article helping me pinpoint what made up that perfect look. Here are my favorites:

Fashion: Anne Taylor Revisted

When I had a corporate job in the financial district of San Francisco, I shopped at Anne Taylor and Banana Republic mostly  for the business attire required for the duration of my career in finance. Since then I’ve worked in wonderful jobs, where a more casual look is welcomed. So, I have to admit I haven’t been to Anne Taylor for a while, until these popped up on my Facebook page. You had me at perfection Anne Taylor, for casual to dressy, work to cocktails, Spring to summer dresses to be worn with a cardigan n array of colors.

Fashion: Oscar Red Carpet 2016 – Favorites

I don’t know about you but I felt the stars lacked a certain glamour at this year’s Oscars. Opting for a more relaxed look instead, as if dressing up for a formal cocktail gathering at the Met. Perhaps a fund-raiser or…yeah just that. With that said, I found it very easy to pin-point old Hollywood glamour as that is what I associate the Oscars with.   {click here to see the rest – and let me know what you consider a grand look} {click here for the feature image}

Fashion: Marchesa Fall 2016

This is Oscar week of course, when all of Hollywood spends the next few days, if not attending some pre-function,  inside of a salon, a spa, nip-tuck center, and even at their therapist getting ready (their mind set) for the EVENT of the HollyWORLD. So, I figured since Marchesa is often the gown of choice on the red carpet, to include the designer’s Fall 2016 fashion for our viewing pleasure.

Fashion: Springtime Outfit For Weddings and More

First event I will be attending this spring is a bridal shower for a friend of a friend, who is very dear to me.  She invited me to her wedding in June, with a bridal shower scheduled sometime in April. And although it might be too soon… This outfit is what I plant to wear – from head to toe – to her somewhat formal  and whimsical bridal shower.
