Decor: Fall Inspired

Every season I normally feel the need to switch up my decor, even if it means changing my throw pillow covers, and adding a few trinkets throughout the home, the need to feel the seasons indoor is in full force – especially Autumn…I mean how can anyone resists? And there is always the fall wreath collection to consider from here Ideas from Target – one of my favorite, and I am sure one of your favorite stores to walk into to buy one thing and end up with a dozen or more things you may or may not need, and doing everything in your power to hide that receipt from your hubs. 🙂

Food: Carrot Cake

This morning I had a craving for carrot cake with my coffee. But finding a tasteful slice at the early morning hours in downtown San Francisco is pretty challenging. So, I settled for a scone with the complete intention of baking tonight using this must try carrot cake recipe. Lifestyle: Anthropologie Not So In Moderation

I walked into Anthropologie at the Stanford Shopping mall yesterday with my jaw dropped, and my eyes lit up at the sight of the most beautiful put together emporium of holiday-ish and other products ready for the best shopping season of the year. I wanted everything, and most of the displays managed to captivate and enchant me in ways I haven’t been strolling though an actual retail establishment. Good for them, I say for materializing a solid vision. So I dug deep to find out which umbrella of retail stores was this particular establishment and discovered the results here.  It’s an interesting read that I will leave you to consider. Otherwise please proceed to the fun stuff below. {featured image and inspiration for blog entry}

Decor: The Elegance of Black and White

I walked into a hotel once in Madrid and my jaw dropped at the most beautiful black and white decor you can imagine. It was a newly renovated property which had their grand opening the week we were there so everything seemed too perfect and perfectly in place. The service impeccable, the entire place smelled of new paint and freshly pressed linens. The trouble is – it was so long ago, I cannot find or remember the name of the property. So sorry about that. But, although I loved the decor, I never considered incorporating the black and white colors in my home until I saw these effortless, yes effortless is the best way to describe playing with the color black in decor, ideas. What do you think? Black and white, or you dream of all colors incorporated into your home? {featured image and inspiration for this post}

Culture: Halloween Appetizers and Films

I was in Hawaii last week, and was amazed at how seriously Halloween is taken there. I don’t know what I was thinking – on a romantic tropical island, for Halloween preparation to trump over most everything pleasantly surprised me. So, we must prep here on the mainland and across the world for this growing and very popular holiday by sharing some interesting topics. {featured image source and inspiration for this post}

Decor: San Francisco Home Tour And My Walk Across The City

On the weekends you can find me walking across the city, mostly from my home in the avenues/outer sunset to Pacific Heights and I do so of course for exercise, but mostly for the love of architecture, and the perfectly manicured landscapes. While walking I always imagine the interior of some of the homes, or let’s be honest, all of the homes of the rich and some famous folks that live or own the properties in the area. And of course, my prayers were answered with the interiors of this 39M home – yes you read it right – 39 Million dollar home in the city with views of that famous bridge of ours ;). I’ll see if I can borrow a cup of sugar…

Decor: A Home in Lake Tahoe, California

One of the perks of living in San Francisco and the bay area is the proximity to all the creativeness that has defined the Internet. One particular, which I use often, is Instagram in all its glory. So, naturally, this article sparked my interest – to see how the man behind the creation has set up his home…in this case, Lake Tahoe, California – which to me is totally in line with the app design. 🙂

Let’s Start Monday Right

I hope your weekends were grand and that you had a chance to decompress from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Perhaps your Monday is just beginning where in other places it’s nearing bedtime or beyond. But since I live in San Francisco, and my day is just beginning, as usual with the commuter train experiencing delays, I sit in my car near the station and list down all the beautiful things I want to share with all of you this week.

Looking Forward to October

The first day of the month, and only 90 days to the end of the year. But no worries, October is a month I look forward to, especially after the sluggishness and the unmotivated I felt by the end of August, and all throughout September. To me, October is the month to shed all the negative and just enjoy the most brilliant of colors, the layering in fashion, the shift in decor,  comfort food in recipes, and the prelude to the holiday planning.  October is the coolest month of the year. What Film to see, what recipe book to buy, and where to vacation in October
