Boutique Hotel Pick – Belmond La Residencia – Mallorca, Spain

I can’t say it enough – October is a wonderful time to travel and with the need of taking a week or so to simply unplug, you may want to consider Mallorca, Spain and this spectacular boutique hotel, which is  wonderful anniversary present, or a honeymoon destination or just because. I mean really, what more do I need to say?

Travel: From Affordable Luxury Vacations to UberBOAT Island hopping

As I stated earlier this week, we are coming to the best travel months of any year – you know, past the summer rush with college students and lots of families and group travelers crowding every city or town, most anywhere in the world. Driving the prices for accommodations to high season rates, and the locals to grow inpatient with all the chaos. I do my best to stay away the summer months and plan my trips in early Spring or Fall. For this very reason – I have decided to share some interesting suggestions for those of you planning to vacation like me – semi-off-season, or what I like to call ‘adult vacationing’

Boutique Hotel Pick – Villa Tortuga – Mustique Island

The very private Mustique Island, streamed across my screen the other day, while searching for a secluded island getaway I’ve been considering for a week long hideaway early summer in 2019. Just a hundred miles west of Barbados, just in case you are wondering, this island provides with me just the right amount of privacy, and the simplest pleasures to help you disconnect from the brutal realities of every day life. With a dozen or so villas to choose from to rent, and invite a close nit of family or friends to share in the experience. Although it was difficult to choose my favorite property, I have to say Villa Tortuga stuck with me and so the planning begins now with an email-invite to a handful of family members proposing for a trip in June 2019. Here’s to crossing my fingers we can make it happen. {featured image source}

Boutique Hotel Pick – Rowena’s Inn – Sandpiper Resort – British Colombia

I admit I do watch Hallmark films here and there when I need a break from  shows that are based on too much reality or otherwise.  Hallmark films put my mind at ease and my life in neutral. Just last night while  watching Wedding March 3 – I fell in-love with the location, particularly the Inn they used as the backdrop for the story and weddings and the simplest of dramas. It was the Rowena’s Inn, a Sandpiper resort – Harrison Mills, British Colombia and I had to research and add to my list of destinations.  Here’s the story behind the film – for those movie buffs such as myself and the link to the actual hotel booking: Great setting for a wedding venue as well.

My Mind Is All Over The Place

I sometimes wish I could get a visual on the inside of my brain – you know kind of see how in the world I manage to compartmentalize  all the SCHTUFF. You know, from every day life to what is going on worldwide and then the topics I wish I could comment on but would rather just keep my opinion to my self – just to avoid a backlash. Isn’t that silly. The fear that in the country where we are encouraged to speak our minds, I am more inclined to keep my ‘political’ opinions to myself then shed a certain light on the less informed or the ignorant. So, I chug along and instead focus on the fun topics, even while inside of my mind I am brewing with all sorts of opinions. So, here’s to a handful of topics that are fun – and light and hopefully will calm all those stressed out or anxious over real or fake news streaming across the society control panel, I mean the internet.

Boutique Hotel Pick – Chateau de Berne, Lorgues, France

Ah the idea of being in a place like this for a week or two, to regroup and clear the mind and body and soul is an idea I’ve had for a long time. Escaping the hustle and bustle of city life and the never ending list of chores and realities of every day life. Nevermind the hotel is 57 miles from the nearest airport. Isn’t that the whole idea? 🙂
