Boutique Hotel Pick – Kimpton Charlotte Square – Edinburgh, Scotland

One of the favorite destinations from around the world is Scotland, and the inspiration for my third novel coming your way soon. And although there are many wonderful hotels throughout the country, one in particular I wanted to feature in RS&S since it meets all of my eclectic taste in accommodations.     {for a list of 20 small luxury hotels in Edinburgh- visit this site}

Travel: Travel West, You Might Just Love It

When travelling through Europe, I often strike up a conversation with others either on the trains, or in restaurants, I want to know where people are from and where it is they have traveled. The interesting part of all this, is that the moment someone finds out I am from San Francisco, they tend to say just how much they love America – New York, Miami – which isn’t all of America, but a part of the country considered most ideal for tourists coming from Europe and beyond.  But I am here to tell you there is more – much more to see west of the Mississippi – Louisiana, Montana, Arizona and naturally the west coast.

Boutique Hotel Pick – La Reserve Geneva Hotel, Switzerland

I fell in love with Switzerland – two years ago, when I took a trip via train across the country for about two weeks in October. I think that was one of my favorite trips abroad. This morning as I stepped out of the commuter train; I noticed SWISS AIR ads all throughout the station – which took me back to the wonderful country I was fortunate enough to experience with its many natural wonders and health-oriented philosophy. So, with Switzerland in mind, I decided to share my latest boutique hotel pick for Geneva. Suites and Rooms Indoor and Outdoor Pools Spa and More To Indoor and Outdoor Dinning And if you are passing through Geneva, here’s a list of the best restaurants for 2019

Boutique Hotel Pick – The Williamsburg Hotel – New York

I am not a fan of standard hotels – which mostly cater to business travelers.  I prefer unique, artsy, small properties with a character bigger than the square feet of the lobby.  And I always start with the bathroom decor, and work my way to the room and views.  So, I think The Williamsburg Hotel New York – fits exactly the type of accommodations I’ve been searching for my trip to New York later this year.  And they are pet friendly 🙂

Boutique Hotel Pick – Heckfield Place – Hampshire, England

And here is where I wish to stay for a week or so – to simply daydream away – and nothing more… Where there are gardens to explores,  a spa day to be planned, decor to be admired and cuisine to be tried, this would be the best thing for me, I just know it                                                                                                                                                       {source here, and here}

Boutique Hotel Pick – L’Hotel Particulier – Arles, France

Mondays are a great day to start with daydreaming – about places you wish you could go or ones you hope someone would whisk you away to – for a bit of rest and relaxation, and romance – kind of like this place in Arles, France. Details are everything

Boutique Hotel Pick – The Old Hudson – New York

Normally, my boutique hotel picks consists of a property with at the very least 10 rooms and the entire property filled with charm, or a uniqueness worth experiencing. But The Old Hudson – although two unit studio set-up, this property is ideal for the smallest of special occasions. I’ll let your imagine do the thinking.  Hint: This will be the place I add to my 30-day milestone birthday celebrations:   Learn about the Hidden gem of Hudson, New York

Travel: For The Romance of Winter or Simple Hibernation

There is definitely a romantic feel to winter travel, even if in some places snow and freezing temps are involved. The idea of cozying up with your loved one, or not, but instead tucked under a blanket in front of the fireplace, travel in winter is wonderful, especially to destinations with the ideal accommodations from this list: Hint: Also great gift ideas for her or him.

Boutique Hotel Pick – Beaverbrook Hotel, Surrey, England

In recent years I’ve fallen in love with the English countryside, which is where I was 20 years ago, dreaming of owning a cottage in England somewhere. I suppose I’ve made full circle. You see twenty years or so ago, I was walking about a street fair in San Francisco, and I noticed a set of photographs taken by a man in a booth aiming to sell them. They were all photographs of the English countryside. I bought four, already framed, and hung them in my home as soon as I walked in through the door – vowing to myself that I needed to see England past London. Two years back, I visited a friend who’d been living there for a while, and asked her to take me around the country – since she drove and I didn’t have the guts to. And surely, the experience was worth every penny. Here’s the thing, there is nothing like seeing the English countryside in your own personal car, not so much a group tour, but at your …
