When travelling through Europe, I often strike up a conversation with others either on the trains, or in restaurants, I want to know where people are from and where it is they have traveled. The interesting part of all this, is that the moment someone finds out I am from San Francisco, they tend to say just how much they love America – New York, Miami – which isn’t all of America, but a part of the country considered most ideal for tourists coming from Europe and beyond.  But I am here to tell you there is more – much more to see west of the Mississippi – Louisiana, Montana, Arizona and naturally the west coast.

I have visions of just gliding into this week. Especially after the crazy hectic few weeks that seems to have become the norm in most everyone’s life. I am not saying that I have nothing to do, or that deadlines and such are not around the corner. I am just thinking a slower start is in order. I love June – its my month and no matter how the world and those around me try to get me down, I won’t have it this month. I am going to do my best to rise above all things and just be excited, and thankful, and happy and content for the next 30 days. I am not a fan of standard hotels – which mostly cater to business travelers.  I prefer unique, artsy, small properties with a character bigger than the square feet of the lobby.  And I always start with the bathroom decor, and work my way to the room and views.  So, I think The Williamsburg Hotel New York – fits exactly the type of accommodations I’ve been searching for my trip to New York later this year.  And they are pet friendly 🙂
