I cannot say too much about the list of college towns on the Conde Nast Traveler site as being the best – since this is another one of those things on my travel bucket list to do – visit college towns. But I am a little surprised Stanford isn’t on the list, or U.C. Santa Barbara or Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Brussels Sprouts are in season and naturally this is the time of year, I make this vegetable in so many variations and just devour a bunch in one sitting. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw this recipe and of course I had to share. Is your mouth watering yet? INGREDIENTS 2 slices thick cut bacon, chopped 1 pound brussels sprouts, halved 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil kosher salt and pepper 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes 1/3 cup medjool dates, pits removed and chopped 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 8 ounces Halloumi cheese, cubed (continued)

On a plane or through an airport, I do take notice of the flight attendant uniforms – even while some stay in the hotel in SOMA, across the street from where my office is, I observe from head to toe, their stylish ensemble. Sure, I’ve done tea in the countryside in England, but never one in London. Not sure why that is, but I bet it’s the need to run around and see every tourist sight in the two-day stay I normally schedule for this fair city. Anyway, next Spring I will be going to just outside London to visit with a friend and I have already told her to pencil us in for a few tea rooms from this list:
