When I worked as a travel agent, I spend a good amount of time listening to my clients, and getting to know them before I came up with their next trip or get-away, even for destination weddings and anniversary celebrations. To me every detail mattered. Travel has always been my top passion and I feel I can never share enough information about it here. See what I mean?

I know we don’t agree on most everything these days and trying to share any thoughts or ideas about anything out there is becoming more challenging I feel. Compelling me to ponder over the topics I want to bring up, thinking all of it has to be diplomatic and well thought out. You know, sort of making sure I don’t offend, nor downgrade anything or anyone. At times I even delete a topic I truly want to discuss just because, it is probably best. I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing, but it is what it is right now in this less-than-optimistic world we’ve churned out. The weather has been crazy lately, with a glimpse here and there of warm sunny weather and then all of a sudden a downpour, thunder, lightning, and high winds, overall, making me want to get away even more – to a tropical or seaside destination somewhere in the world. While I was going through a list of places I have logged into a travel journal (yes it is paper bound), this property came up for Biarritz, a place I’ve only been to as a day trip from somewhere near by, over a decade ago, I can’t for the life of me remember any details, nor the fact if the coastal destination is something I’d like to explore. Now, I’ve done all my reading online about Biarritz, being a luxury destination near the border of Spain visited by royals and the famed Hotel du Palais, which has a history worth reading about and if you are an architectural and decor buff like I am, you would appreciate details of its renovation and such. Recently I came across this article, about a home decor that has gone completely right – if you ask me, since the style is in line with my taste. You know the one I chose for my studio re-vamp over the summer. What I love about this, is that I know exactly the neighborhood the apartment is in, and that it is amazing how wonderfully Fran Meckler and her husband have taken something old and turned into something new-blue. I sometimes forget that I live in one of the most amazing cities on the planet, and that we too have the best of restaurants, and bars to add to your must-try list when you come hang out in my fair city. Now, although I have sampled on a personal level a handful or so of these pubs, and planned many company happy hours around town, with the venue always being a different bar, I have to say this list of ‘Ten San Francisco bars where the cocktails are so good’ has sparked my curiosity to venture out a bit further then the norm. I’ve been longing for an exotic destination lately. Kind of like in Indiana Jones, set in the 30’s. Whatever happened to those types of movies? Don’t you ever wonder. I do. So the other day while trying to figure out what to watch on television, set in that time period and the location of course somewhere exotic, this amazing hotel popped up – enticing me…or perhaps sparking an interest to write the next story around this highly romantic destination. Mediterranean cooking is what I grew up with and one I cherish and consider the best of healthy foods. Recently I’ve been asking my mother to teach me all that she knows about our home cooking, and then I find ways to tweak those recipes – meaning to say – finding ways to shortcut my way through the meal prep. In case you are not familiar, Mediterranean cooking is very time-consuming. I can’t believe it’s already Spring break and thoughts of graduation, weddings, and family vacations are in full swing. Now, although I did all my traveling in the month of March this year, I still yearn for another trip late September or early October. One of the biggest concern when I was in England was the effects Britexit would have on travelers, even the issues in the US were a concern to those abroad considering coming to America for their holidays. Although I listened to the news, read reports and discussed such concerns over coffee and dinner with those I met up with in Europe, I decided not to allow of it to discourage me – about traveling anyway.
