Whatever it is that you’ll do on Valentine’s day…just think pink 🙂 {Photo source click here}
This site I follow religiously just so I could try new and creative recipes from the normal foods we eat in the US. I’ve included some of my favorites here and if you click on the photo, you’ll be redirected to the recipe:
Last weekend I embarked on a cross-country drive to help a friend move to Nebraska. It was a challenging drive since we there were pockets of heavy snow, some ice and rain along the way. Finally we got to her new place, and there was no internet. So I haven’t been able to online. Anyway, it was nice to see other states, or drive through them, just to get an idea of what this country is about. For the next few days I will be helping her decide where her furniture will go, and then I am on my way back to San Francisco. I miss the city, and my day to day there. Until then, here are some photos I took along the way. Not sure if you are interested.
London, on this trip was a pit stop. Not really a place I was particularly interested in visiting, since it’s one of those cities, if I’ve seen it once, it’s crossed off my bucket list. Sorry if I am offending anyone. I prefer the countryside in the UK, not so much a congested city. Anyway, we arrived on a Saturday evening and after dinner settled in early and watched the Big Bang Theory. I think Sheldon and I were separated at birth. Sunday morning, we took our time getting ready and walked out of our hotel, utterly surprised. London was experiencing, some sort of heat wave and the streets were overly crowded. Then it dawned on me, every local was off work, enjoying the heat and being outdoors. Which made it nearly impossible for the tourists to be out and about, even during slow travel season (or maybe not). We walked for miles, me, worrying mostly at attempting to take the underground or even the over ground transportation, since it felt as though people were hanging out of …
I told myself I’d recap each month to see how much progress I’ve made with my goals and to strive for more in the upcoming month. This may sound a bit too-driven for some, but it’s the only way, the older I get, the more I get the things I want done. So for January: Adopted healthy eating and a weekly exercise routine. I’ve focused more on healthy thinking and a positive outlook. I’ve allowed myself to be photographed eight times in January, I’ll pop my photos on my blog, here and there. I’ve signed up with a marketing plan, online promoting, book signing and committed to paperback printing for my first novel- all in the Month of January. I’ve signed on to http://www.Lumosity.com and have picked up watching The Carrie Diaries just to stay in touch with my youth. Have you achieved your goals so far? Do share.
I honestly can’t remember what’s happened. I swear it was only yesterday I was planning Thanksgiving Dinner with the families and now it’s almost Christmas. In talking to others and over hearing conversation, I discovered I am not alone in this thinking. Most everyone is as confused as I am about how quickly the holiday is approaching. So, to lighten our thoughts, relieve the anxiety, get us focused, and just plain insist that we relax, I have decided to declare Friday December 20th, a day to just breathe, step away from the shopping frenzy and get together arguments and just find a way to truly enjoy the holiday season, and if you can’t find something in your neck of the woods (which I doubt) to inspire you, by all means stare at the photos below 🙂 {photo reference please click here and here}

This is the time of the year I frequent one mall after another to see how the stores have decorated. Don’t judge 🙂 but I do love searching for holiday spirit in public gathering places. Over the weekend, I drove to Palo Alto and walked through the outdoor Stanford Shopping Mall, just before the weather turns sour in the next few weeks. Of course, I snapped photographs along the way:
I needed to walk during my lunch hour yesterday to find a way to see the good in everything, considering the news of the book drama. So, without a plan, I ended up at the Yuerba Buena Gardens, behind the Moscone center in the city and good I saw, in pictures: {photos the property of https://rawsilkandsaffron.wordpress.com}
In light of the fact, most Americans are in some sort of turmoil, wondering where this country is headed, I try to find ways to stay positive and focus on all the good and wonderful things just so I could endure. I mean what can we do? Change is in order and yet most of our hands are tied, unless there is a massive uproar and then – in all reality nothing will matter. While I clicked through website after another, gathering inspiration and ideas for my next blog entry, I stumbled upon this amazing photograph of where the Caribbean and the Atlantic Ocean meet – Elucthera, Bahamas, which not only inspired me, but also managed to put a smile across my worried face. I knew I needed to share the photo, in hopes it would do the same to you. Hang in there Americans, and don’t give up hope. We can overcome anything, if we find a way to at least meet half way.
