road trip and a need to pamper myself
This past week I haven’t been able to focus much on the creative aspect of my life and rather stayed on track with work and managing a home. I actually hate that but someone has to do it. 🙂 So, in order to break the monotony, I signed up for a day of pampering myself and then volunteered to escort a dear person in my life on a 48hour road trip to pick up a puppy. I am hoping both experiences will enlighten me enough to get inspired so that I can bounce back to my old creative self again. Stay tuned to see what the outcome is.
finding inspiration in all the strange places
One of the most difficult tasks in our lifetime is finding inspiration to do the things we are destined to do. Sure, it’s easier to settle for the norm and go along each day doing what is expected of us, but to actually step away and drive ourselves to do what we are destined to do, takes alot of courage and inspiration. I’ve known for years that I should have been a writer, but never paid much attention to the signs, instead I routinely did what I was supposed to do, never once feeling fulfilled with my calculated accomplishments. What I did discover in the last couple of years or so, is that, I needed to start paying attention to the signs and accept every thing that happens in my life as a form of inspiration to drive me closer to where I am destined to be. All I needed was to pay attention.
photography: heavenly thoughts
As I gaze at the heavy fog lurking throughout my neighborhood on a Monday evening after work, I cannot help but envision what heaven may look like.
if i could do it all over again
There are times, like most people of my age group, I contemplate the fact, if I were able to do it all over again what would I change. Although this adult game is mostly played over a glass of wine or two in my household with friends, I can’t help but wonder how other women feel about the question? If I could do it all over again, I would have: How about you?
embracing all things inspirational
Once in a while I have trouble, like everyone else, in getting going for a work week. I pout the entire weekend and by Sunday night, I am hyperventilating because I am once again obliged to carry out a regimented lifestyle for five days out of yet another week. This is not to say I hate my job or anything, it’s just that I appreciate my freedom a great deal and wish I had the luxury to escape the norm more often than I can. Anyway, knowing the much-needed break is nowhere in sight, I turn to some random photos of beautiful things for inspiration, just to get me by for the week. Hope you enjoy the slideshow and here’s hoping for a smooth week.
inspiration: outdoor special occasion table setting
Call me crazy but I am ready for Spring, although it isn’t officially Spring until around March 22nd, I am ready for it right now. So, as I feel my stress level escalating to code orange from being cooped up indoors most of the day, I have decided to turn to my collection of outdoor special occasion table setting photos to put a smile back on my face and give me a moment to daydream about Springtime. If you feel like I do today, find something that inspires you and take a moment to escape mentally.
valentine’s day romance suggestion 1 – flowers
I really feel bad for everyone who gets caught up in the Valentine’s day madness. I mean, in my opinion, the true sense of romance should be ongoing and sometimes even when a person least expects it. That’s what makes it special and more personal. I guess that is why I appreciate birthdays and wedding anniversaries more. But for all those people who get a kick out of planning for Valentine’s Day, I have decided to dedicate this entire week for some of my suggestions to take into account, while frantically searching for gifts and “interesting” things to do for/or with your loved one. Take note, these suggestions also work for birthday and anniversary celebrations as well. So here we go with suggestion 1. Every one loves getting flowers, unless of course they are allergic to them, but whether you believe it or not, most woman “over 40” are okay with just getting flowers on Valentine’s Day. So, this year instead of giving the usual boring bouquet of over priced red roses (yawn) why don’t …
holiday 2010 gift wrap ideas
I do admire a beautifully designed gift wrap paper, as much as I appreciate a well crafted greeting card. I can honestly say, I will spend some days, the entire day, shopping for them at specialty stores, craft stores, art supply stores and paper design centers most anywhere in the world. I admit I am an avid collector of fine gift wrap paper and as a result have containers full of unusual, vintage and extraordinary paper in hopes of one day mustering up enough courage to start my own production of them. But in the meantime, I want to share some of my favorite photos of holiday gift wrap papers and let you know that, from what I have seen, this year there seems to be an abundance of creatively designed gift wrap papers to choose from. Just a few places that come to mind for now: Papyrus Card Store, Pottery Barn, Pier 1 Imports, Cost Plus, Target, Crate and Barrel and all Fine Paper Stationary Stores. So, if you happen to stumble upon a …
