Fashion: Japanese High Rise Denim
Finally, high rise jeans that do not cost an arm and a leg, for when you simply want to wear jeans. In my case, nearly e-v-e-r-y day.

This year, I’ve decided to actually do Spring cleaning – in terms of my closet I mean, since I’ve done the rest last year. Anyway, I am finally going to get rid of all those pieces I haven’t worn in years, and do some shopping for: Up next: Shoes and bags, and how to find the perfect swim suit

I watch the show Younger on television, the show naturally targeted to the 40 something’s. Each episode is better than the next, funny, very relatable and downright on point about a 40 something trying to fit in after her husband (surprise) leaves her. She transitions into a 20 something year old to be able to get a job, and be accepted in general. Lucky for her, her only daughter is away in College or traveling through Asia, and isn’t around to judge. 😉 The fashion is mostly what caught my attention with the creators of the show dressing the main character Eliza tastefully to communicate perfect her youthfulness, without compromising elegance or class, something most women over 40 needs to consider. With that said, I have to share with you what I consider fashion to looking younger, yet feeling classy:
Too soon to think Autumn, even though it is actually almost around the corner. But in the fashion world, Autumn attire is long planned and introduced. So for that, here is my favorite ensemble, inspired by the beautiful colors of fall time in Paris. I cannot get enough of the color red in fashion, so I am always looking for ways to incorporate the hue in an ensemble. fashion tres chic by rawsilkandsaffron featuring a red shawl James Perse ruched top net-a-porter.com Giles knee length pencil skirt avenue32.com Loriblu red platform pumps forzieri.com House of Harlow 1960 black bangle $155 – the-dressingroom.com Lanvin tahitian pearl earrings $270 – net-a-porter.com Juicy Couture sparkle jewelry $230 – psyche.co.uk Givenchy red shawl forwardforward.com Carven acetate sunglasses net-a-porter.com Yves Saint Laurent lip stick yslbeautyus.com
Back in the 90’s I wore red lipstick and red nail polish, but since Sex In The City aired on television, we, I mean women over 40 have evolved along with the cast in choosing lighter shades of pink and nude to “cover up our age” Lately however, I envy the red, which is back in fashion (perhaps silently it never left) and wonder if I can still support the look. Any comments from the over 40 crowd?
Since we have been experiencing Spring like weather here in San Francisco, it has become truly challenging to dress for the weather since at the crack of dawn, when I get ready for work, it’s 32degrees and by lunch time it’s 65degrees and then by the evening it dips back down to the 30s again, I am at a loss with my business casual attire. The only saving grace, living in a city like San Francisco, is that most women here have transition clothes for the ever changing weather, which is ok to wear in winter, spring to summer and fall. So with that said, I have put together some things from my closet which I consider transition clothes from Winter to Spring. 1. Burberry London Knitted Silk Cardigan USD550 (winter) 2. Dolce Gabana Cotton blend shirt USD325 (Staple) 3. Calvin Cline Knit V-Neck Cardigan 675 (spring) 4. Ralph Lauren Collection Corrine Suede boots USD460 (winter) 5. Stella McCartney Alyssa Wool-twill Skirt USD585 (Staple) 6. DKNY leather tote USD325 (Staple) 7. Stella McCartney Faux python …
