Here are this weeks “chic to unique” interior decor from which I draw my creative inspiration.

This year’s Oscar fashion on the red carpet was the most glamourous and yet simple and down to earth. Perhaps inspired by the film The Artist or not. Either way, here are some of my favorites: {click here for photo credits}
The weather is amazing in San Francisco these days and although I am loving every minute of it, I am thrown off by the warm and sunny days we are experiencing in the middle of winter. With the strange weather, I can’t help but shift gears in the fashion department. So I have found some interesting ensembles here to consider for the “upcoming” Spring season.
I watch the Golden Globe awards religiously every year and outside of appreciating the winners and admiring the losers for their excellent sportsmanship, I focus on the gown choices by every celebrity walking the red carpet. This year, however, I was a little disappointed with the over 40crowd and their choice of gown. I don’t know, maybe I am too critical when it comes to celebrity fashion, but see for yourself and let me know what you think?
I actually came up with the title of this blog entry while I watched my dog eat his dinner in a dark kitchenette last night. I had just entered my home from a long and exhausting day consisting of work, running errands and visiting with my mother, when I heard a crunching sound coming from the kitchenette. I slowly walked towards the room, only to discover my dog eating in the dark. I was heart broken to see him there, because I knew that he waited for me for as long as he could to eat his food , but seeing that I was so late, he just couldn’t wait any longer. I quickly knelt down to give him a reassuring hug and although he was starving, he paused eating to allow me the gesture and after making sure I was satisfied, he continued to eat his food until he was done. He then drank some water, and slowly walked towards me to give me his unconditional thank you lick for being there, no matter …
Every year I turn to my favorite stationary store for wrapping paper to maintain a colorful there. But this year I decided to try some earth friendly variations which I found here and I must admit it turned out pretty cool. Check out some of my favorites
I am not a fan of frosted bland layer cakes. I much prefer bundt cakes made with dried fruits and nuts, maybe some fresh lemon or orange peel shavings (aka rinds), and definitely infused with cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Since this type of cake is not very popular in the U.S., most restaurants and cafes offer either carrot cake or zucchini bread as an alternative. So I usually order either to give me the fix I need, if and when I crave for a slice of “robust” cake. I want to state here that I can only tolerate the cream frosting on either cake since it actually and truly compliments the flavors throughout it. Over the weekend, while I searched for a cake to bake for this year’s Thanksgiving dinner, I came across this visually amazing blog and found an interesting recipe for a cake which I wanted to share with everyone who comes across my blog and also make for this year’s Thanksgiving dessert table. Harvest Cake (Makes 1-9inch cake, to make a layered cake …
Sometimes when we put an outfit together, we cannot visualize how it would really look. I know this because sometimes when I see a few pieces suggested together in a magazine or a print ad, I wonder how that would really look as an ensemble. So for that, I have added a few items of clothing from here – first separately for the optimist and the pessimist in me and other women as well, and then the final result just incase the negative trait over rules the positive from a visual point of view. 1.Top: Maje Leopard Silk Crepe Sweater $245 2.Pants: Vionnet Cadiz stretch crepe pants $905 3.Jacket: Carven Wool Blend Felt Cocoon Coat $970 4.Ankle Boots: Pierre Hardy Sued Ankle Boots $895 5.Bag: Proenza Schouler ps1 Keep all small texture bag $1150 6.Earings: Isharyanilenymph 18K Gold plated drop earings $160
I sometimes wonder what it would be like to live in a fashion conscious city like New York and dress like the Sex In The City cast? Don’t get me wrong, San Francisco is somewhat fashion trendy, but it is so mostly on conservative color choices. Perhaps because of our year long dreary weather, we tend to stick to blacks and grays and rarely walk about the city in fuschia, orange hues or bright yellows, well maybe as a shell underneath a suit. This fall, I am longing to add some gold, blood red orange, deep yellows and different shades of green to my wardrobe and hopefully set a new standard for myself no matter how black and gray the choices are all around me. So, for the new objective at hand and the baby steps to get there , I have put together an outfit from here, which I plan to duplicate for the impending fall season. 1.Bottega Veneta Lace Cummberbund dress 2600 2.
