Thanksgiving: Easy Casserole Side Dishes and Other Ideas

Casseroles are the easiest of side dishes – and here’s a list of recipes to include some of the traditional favorites with a twist – naturally – because that is how I roll 🙂 And then there is this dressing: Okay, okay – don’t panic – here’s a easy to make menu for that first Thanksgiving dinner party attempt And here’s where I got side-tracked to pies:

A Girl Can Dream…

Once in a while I swoon over the idea of doing something extraordinary for myself. I imagine it, consider it, then talk myself out of it. Recent events being buying a much-needed new car, or an upgraded smart phone.  Even pampering myself. But I decided this morning, while struggling with my hair to cooperate the style I chose, thinking I may need a trim for it to stay properly in place – I vowed at that I would do something spectacular for myself every other month or so in 2018. Well, in light of this topic, here’s a far-fetched wishful thinking of mine – to spend a day at…   Has that ever happened to you? Where or what is it that you wish you could do?

Lifestyle: Looking At the Bright Side of Things

In speaking with a few important people in my life, I realized the other day, that I do a lot of talks of encouragement and positive thinking when helping to ward off the insecurities we all feel once in a while or sometimes even all the time. Or, just that we simply want to educate ourselves on subject matter, we know nothing about, but are willing to understand. For that reason, I am sharing a few finds online that may be beneficial:

Fashion: Fair Isle Sweaters

I was in Scotland in March and in some boutiques I got a lesson on proper sweater and scarf buying. Mostly the history behind it, and how to tell imitation from the real thing. But being a nutty tourist that I am, I went for  two scarfs that were perfectly priced for my souvenir budget :). Although thinking some day I will return and do the proper Sweater shopping. A few days ago, I stumbled upon this article about a bit of history on Fair Isle Sweater making in Scotland and the three year wait for the product –  which I figured you’d find an interesting read on your commute home this evening or just before bedtime some happy thoughts, depending on where in the world you live. Happy Thursday – that’s all. Traditionally, Fair Isle knitting, a “stranded colorwork” technique used to create rows of intricate patterns, has been passed down through generations of families. But the island’s shifting demographics—from a one-time population of nearly 400 to 57 today, only half of whom have …
