At The Start of A New Year…

  So much is going on, and in a way I like it. I enjoy busy. A calendar full of events and chores and such, taking up most of January for me. We are starting the new year with a company party, happening this Friday in the city of course, at an old classic hotel near Union Square. Details of which I will mention after the fact. I’ve been busy with the last-minute details, play coordinator-host to a 200 plus gathering of co-workers. The program for the evening cocktails, dinner, raffled gifts and dancing. This is the only time I get to see my co-workers in formal attire. Normally at a software dev company in San Francisco jeans is the norm, a Giant’s cap if you happen to be  a fan, and a funky T-shirt expressing something not offensive to anyone. Saturday I begin my training for the Superbowl 50 volunteer program. Yes, I have volunteered to work during the weeks leading to and including the Superbowl.  San Francisco as you may know plays host …

Not So Old-Fashioned Christmas in San Francisco

Last week I made my way to Union Square to meet with a friend for lunch somewhere in the vicinity. And along the way I felt the need to  journal the following: All these years I had no idea the tree in union square was artificial. I think in my childhood days it was a real tree I vaguely recall being delivered on a bed of a truck from Oregon or… maybe I am wrong. My favorite word, luring me as always into Macy. I think it all started with the Macy shopping bags, on it stamped the word Believe. Now its a full-blown sign displayed in the window. Naturally I had to walk into the store. And see what was on the other side of the sign. The traditional Santa mailbox is what I found. A reflection of my childhood days or even as a grown up writing a letter to Santa. Yeah I did it, as a grown up, I wrote a letter or two to Santa and dropped it in that very mailbox. …

How My Brain Works

I wear many hats past being a blogger: I am an author, an event planner, software dev quality expert,  avid traveller, photographer fashion consultant, and a supporter of healthy eating and healthy lifestyle.  Not to forget mentioning,  film buff. Oh, and I do love the San Francisco Giants. Because of all that, my brain goes something like this:   {source}

What Would You Say To Your Younger Self If You Had The Chance

My birthday is fast approaching, and every year around this time, I panic, thinking I haven’t accomplished all the things in life I needed to just yet, and getting old is really not helping me get there. But I do wonder, if I could go back, knowing what I know now, what is the one thing I would tell myself to do? Don’t you ever wonder? I’d love to hear from you…drop me a line. Oh and in case you are wondering what I would say to my younger self: It would be to follow your dream no matter what…Because at the end of the day, it is what will make you the happiest. {photo source}

Is It Bad To Compare Amal Clooney to Jackie Onassis – in fashion that is

I don’t know about you but the first glimpse of George Clooney’s then girlfriend, Amal, and all I could think about was how much she resembled Jackie Onassis.  A modern day version of course.   Same sort of flair I think, and I am seeing more and more each day why George has fallen in love with this mediterranean beauty and brains. Lucky for some of us,  Bazaar has posted some of Amal’s most stylish looks, which naturally I love. Take a look and let me know what you think?

foggy monday morning in san francisco

Not sure if we hit that ugly foggy season really early this year. The one that blankets the city from sometime in May to August or early September-the longest days of the year, making it gray and too blah to feel inspired.  Anyway, if I were to explain to you in photographs what my mood is, then I’d have to say: {all photo source click here}

projecting 2015 for this blogger

I’ve been tossing around a list of things I’d like to accomplish in 2015; some of them keeping me up at nights worrying and feeling excited. Besides making some changes career wise. I’d also like to focus on travel, building relationships, and maintaining new-found friendships. I have new ideas about my blog. I have dreams about my novels, even a possible move down south is crossing my mind, all of them hopefully to achieve my lifelong dream. Writing is the number one priority in 2015, getting my novels noticed internationally a goal also. I’ve booked up my calendar all the way to December next year with exciting adventures I cannot wait to blog about, and share with all of you. I am enthusiastic, and looking forward to the New Year. Here are some amazing photographs, touched up of course, of all the places I plan to visit next year. Can you guess where they are? Either way, have a happy and safe New Year. {source}

looking forward to november

Last week was nuts. The world series playoff draining all of me. It seemed nothing mattered. I put everything on hold to focus on the games, and the drama of who’d take the championship. On Friday I attended part of the parade down Market Street in San Francisco, and after getting soaked in a much-needed rain, I ended up the evening with a few friends, celebrating the Giants and Halloween. Saturday was crazy also with errands and more running around, and Sunday Scorpio birthday celebrations here and there. Now, I am looking forward to November. With the time change to still get used to, I welcome the month with pre-holiday planning, details, and hopefully the opportunity to wear sweaters. (We haven’t had to do in San Francisco yet).  So, stay tuned, this month will be an exciting month at rawsilkandsaffron.  Happy Monday! {photo source}
