zipper frenzy from victoria beckham

I stumbled upon these dresses, from Victoria Beckham,  while shopping here and I must say, she was definitely thinking about her own figure when she designed (or had a say so in designing) these dresses. They are lovely, very conservative from the front and  a touch of sexy from the back. What do you think?  Is this something you would consider for your fall wardrobe?

fall 2011 fashion trends – grays and neutrals

You may consider my taste in fashion very conservative and safe, but that wasn’t always the case. In my 20s and 30s I preferred bold colors, minis and all things daring to create my fashion statement. However, while on the other side of 40, I still occasionally dabble with daring, but overall  prefer to stay with the most neutral of colors to make my fashion statement. With that said, here is another outfit I put together from here, which I plan to duplicate very shortly.

fall 2011: grey and tan fashion statement

I sometime have trouble following fashion and end up putting my own style together based on my favorite colors. I don’t think it’s weird, I just enjoy being a bit unique and with having lived in a city  like San Francisco, unique in fashion is the only way to be. Ok, so I do know it’s a bit early for those of you smoldering in heat, but here in San Francisco, we actually dream of warm clothes in the middle of summer because it is freezing cold the entire season. With that, I have put together one of my favorite attires from here, which I plan to duplicate this coming fall.     1.Rick Owens Lilies Belted neopprene jersey Jacket 1345 – 2. Calvin Klein Collection cashmere and silk blend turtleneck 1450 – 3. Ray Ban Cat Eye Frame acetate glasses 130 – 4. muberry bayswater leather bag 1050 – 5. Kenneth Jay Lane 22K gold plated Link bracelet 150 – 6. Jimmy Choo blend leopard print pumps 795

the other bag for the working woman

Why is it so difficult to find a bag, in addition to the purse, to carry lunch and walking shoes while commuting to work? (I know a mouthful) Well, for some strange reason I have had alot of trouble locating the perfect tote bag to do jus that. I have, over the last 6 months, purchased and returned 12 bags and at this stage, as a result of my frustration, have settled on a simple Eddie Bauer Rippac Everyday tote for 20.00  to do the trick, as well as hold me over, until I can find the best tote bag to carry my necessaties every day to and from work. I am not picky, it’s just most bags are not designed properly to hold everything in place or if the compartment is designed correctly, the handles are not, if that is just fine, then securing the bag isn’t designed to detour theft while commuting on a crowded train. So, I suppose I either need to design the perfect bag myself or hire someone to create …

fashion: neutrals for spring to summer 2011

I do love neutrals and as we all know it can  surely be a staple to most any outfit you put together or not, depending on your taste and what the fashion industry dictates. But, I am one, who, although appreciates fashion and trends, I do always go with the sure and safe thing for me.  However once in a while I also appreciate some things that may not look good on me. So, I have included a collection of pieces which I love and some will certainly wear this Spring to Summer.

royal wedding day – across the world

Happy Royal Wedding Day to all my British friends and loyal U.K. blog followers!!!  Enjoy the day off. We can only hope to have such a day here in the states. In light of the event and knowing not so many people will turn to their favorite blogs today, I have decided to pay homage to my favorite exhibition of royalty at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. Pulp Fashion by Isabelle de Borchgrave, running through 5th of June 2011. “Pulp Fashion draws on several themes and presents quintessential examples in the history of costume—from Renaissance finery of the Medici family and gowns worn by Elizabeth I and Marie-Antoinette to the creations of the grand couturiers Frederick Worth, Paul Poiret, Christian Dior, and Coco Chanel. Special attention is given to the creations and studio of Mariano Fortuny, the eccentric early-20th-century artist who is both a major source of inspiration to de Borchgrave and a kindred spirit.” (Legion of Honor site) It is a must see in my opinion and a good idea for those taking …
