wedding gowns: retro classic for 2014

I adore fashion, modern or not and I think what I love most is the fact, a designer occasionally takes a risk in introducing style  so old-fashioned in the midst of 21st century modernism.   Sorry if I have confused you, but the fact, these gorgeous retro classic wedding gowns, from here,  are available for a bride in 2014 is more than amazing in my book, its daring and down right admirable:

tory birch – a youthful connection

Tory Birch is one fashion designer, I turn to, when I want to stay connected to my youthful side in fashion and since most times I consider a more conservative wardrobe, youthful or not, her style works, when ensembled together mindful of my age. 1. cannes film festival 2013 fashion for the woman over 40 or not

I, for one, don’t photograph well, not anymore that is. My photos don’t do justice to my face or body, so I can only imagine the pressure celebrities feel when being photographed after 40.  Because   in all reality, untouched photos don’t lie and sometimes they bring the worst out of you, no matter how unique  you want to appear.  With all that cleared up, I think celebrity over 40 crowd, particularly women, missed it for this year’s gathering.

five months of 2013 – goodbye may, hello june

I swear I was just toasting in 2013 and now all of a sudden it’s June. What in the world is going on? Has it always been like this. Where time flies, no matter if you are having fun or not. May was a busy month for me and one, although long, felt like it passed by in a flash.  I’m okay with that, because May really isn’t my favorite month of the year, June is :). Instead of looking back to what I have accomplished  in the month of May, I am going to, through photos, express what lays ahead for me in June:  Looking forward has always been my motto. 1. fall fashion: termpereley london

While in Hawaii, waiting for my good friend’s wedding to take place on Friday, I decided on my day 2 – free day to walk the streets adorned with designer boutiques. Which then led me to surf “the net” for fall fashion releases.   You can take a girl out of her city, but you can’t take the city out of the girl. Check out Termpereley of London from here:

things that need a double take

Have you ever passed by something which caught your interest and then took another look, but this time in utter admiration or appreciation or longing? Where here’s what will do for it for

multitasking inside my head

I don’t need to remind anyone, that women multi-task on a second to second basis. While sitting at their desks at work, shuffling paper, their multitasking inside their heads. From what to make for dinner, to coordinating how the week would unfold. Children, homework, housework, husbands, get togethers, doctor’s appointments, grocery list, project deadlines, laundry, meetings, telephone calls and even vacation planning. So, for this week, these are the thoughts going through my head:

women’s practical shoes by cole haan

Sometimes it’s good to shop for practical shoes which are very well made and durable enough to last and keep you comfortable. While I walked through Union Square yesterday at lunch, I decided to take a look at the Spring/Summer display at the Cole Haan Boutique near Maiden Lane and to my pleasant surprise, I was impressed. Here are some of my favorite comfy shoes.

oscar 2013 – fashion for the woman over 40

I have to say, women over 40, have come a long way. Not just in Hollywood, but also in the real world.  The funny thing is, that when I was in my 20s,  I dreaded being 40 and now that I have reached that point, I couldn’t be more proud.  Now my only wish is that I could look as good as Jane Fonda when I am in my 70s. With that said, check out some of my favorite looks at this year’s Oscars.
