Can I just say…how amazing these 60’s inspired (well that’s what I see) when I look at these amazing fashion trends – are:
As a girl in my teens, and later in my twenties, I have to say I was pretty self-conscious about the way I looked, and behaved, admiring mostly actors and models for their beauty, elegance and sense of style. Without realizing at the time, that sort of thing was mostly an image relayed through photography. The real beautiful or elegant women having a sense of style roamed the streets of Europe mostly. It’s in the last decade or so I realized that beauty truly comes from within. Because if you have a beautiful outlook on life, it will show it on your face and in the way you carry yourself. Elegance and sense of style is easily learned, and managed I feel, and most any body interested in betting themselves, can obtain such stature. So, here’s a game I play with friends, sometimes over dinner or a walk in the park. Someone at the train station suggested we hop on a water bus to get us to our hotel since we had no idea what we were doing-fresh out of college. We took the bus, and on it was a woman dressed so perfect-sensual that we found ourselves staring at her in awe. In Rome the same thing happened, women here and there in cafes and restaurants dressed very Sophia Loren chic, with the perfect tan, and hair, and fitted skirts and scarfs and red lipstick. I was fascinated, but very certain I would never be able to duplicate any of it back then, and not even now. When I found this article, it reminded me of my trip decades ago, when I first discovered the sensuality of Italian women and their fashion. The article helping me pinpoint what made up that perfect look. Here are my favorites:

My picks from here – which I’d like to incorporate in my usually casual work-wear. By that I mean, jeans mostly and some sort of layers. Except lately more sweaters. It’s been cold and rainy in San Francisco this year, and I’m loving every minute of it. But sometimes I wish my job required me to dress up, in this fashion that is:
I will sit back and let these beautiful photographs of the Marchesa pre-Fall 2016 collections speak for themselves – in embellishments that is:
