Decor: San Francisco Home Reno Gone Right

I walk through Pacific Heights every chance I get. Mostly on an early Sunday morning – I climb up and down the hills and walk from one end of the city to the other end through the prestigious neighborhood in my city. Mostly admiring the exterior of every single home perched along the avenues. Not only the style of homes are a great conversation piece while getting a pretty good workout, but they are also an inspiration for anyone needing to escape the norm or planning on renovating their home. For me, I always wonder what the inside looks like, or which designer created their work of art in terms of decor. So you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon this article, showcasing the interior of a Pacific Heights home in the city. Check out what I mean:

Decor: Inspired By An Old Monastery

There is a design store in San Francisco, Restoration Hardware, which took a huge leap a couple of years ago to revamping their style into sort of a weathered European look. Very classic antique style furniture, upholstery and linen adorning their every store. I’ve  admired their efforts since then and I  visit the headquarter, and various retail stores every chance I get, to feel inspired by their choice of color, and perfectly designed pieces. Decor: What Your Front Door Color Says About You

I’ve been working with roofers, painters, and landscape artists for months, trying to revamp our family home. Just so you understand I’ve been going back and forth between gray and all sorts of neutrals for the base with a creamy trim and I have come dead-stop at the front door. Because my inner artist is aching for bold red, but my attempts to blend in the neighborhood is opting for navy-ish if not black and then of course I came across this article, now leaning towards charcoal gray.  Can you sense my struggle? Front door color meanings Black: elegant, powerful, and prestigious White: simple, crisp, and pristine Gray: timeless and classic Navy: authoritative and trustworthy Green: calm, quiet, …

Decor: Inspired By Film Set Decor

I have to be honest, I see a film and think – I want a room just like that, or a house in that order and although some of the home decor listed here are ones I admired over the years, I have to admit, the home/set decor in Mr.& Mrs. Smith is also right up there as well as A Good Year, in terms of getting inspired. These are the film sets that inspired me over the years. Do share if there a space or two not mentioned here that you consider a solid inspiration for your decorating efforts. featured image is for the home used in Call Me By Your Name
