Would You Do The Color Pink?

Millennial and the color pink go hand in hand according to everyone –  but I have to admit that I have always appreciated the color in the classic, pastel shade or those bearing a rosy hue, or a soft peach blend. Pink is classic, timeless, and women of all ages should own at least one thing pink-ish.  If not in decor, or fashion (clothing) then for sure lipstick. Like this shade Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany, which is still available here or this shade of pink, Penelope Cruz wore in a Lancome ad years ago, and one I wear to this day. Pink is a wonderful color. So just humor me, for those on the fence about Pink. Would you consider pink in… {featured image source}

Decor: Cotswold Family Manor

Here’s the thing. While I was fortunate enough to be chauffeured through the English countryside by a wonderful friend of mine last year and this one, to explore every nook and cranny of England, I couldn’t help but wonder what the interior of the homes looked like. I know some remained true to their traditional style, but I was also certain, some of the homes were remodeled beyond my imagination or hers, for you see, we were discussing decor throughout our adventures naturally. So, when I stumbled upon this article, I needed to share it: How the interior of a 16th Century Manor in the Cotswolds is tastefully transformed to include 21st century  amenities/conveniences.

Decor: Traditional Homes You Can Rent In U.K.

Normally when I am in England, I spend a week or so near Norfolk – to visit family and I love it when we drive to Cornwall, or Cotswold for a few days in between my stay.  While there, I often joke about buying a house, although deep down I truly wish that I could – at least rent one for a few months to see if living abroad is doable really. Which house do you fancy? {featured image Cotswold, England}

Travel: New York’s Best Restaurants

I had trouble deciding how to categorize this post. Meaning, whether I should link it to Food, Decor or Travel. Because you see…it covers all and how it came to be on my radar? Well, because a friend of mine is headed to New York soon and my helping to figure out how to get around led to this wonderful discovery of best restaurants in New York in terms of decor and food.  Although, I can imagine just how many wonderful list of eateries there are in this famous city. Let me know if you agree or have other recommends you want to tack on here: {featured image source}

Decor: For the Rental

I was sitting in the waiting room of a doctor’s office the other day, in the most elegant of surroundings. I realized just then that the ambiance the designers of the office had created, most probably was intended to put all the patients worries to rest. It was a cross between French elegance and modern Swedish decor, which could work for that rental property you’ve just signed the lease for 12 months or a refresh throughout your first condo or loft.  To express the concept of what I mean, I have added a few ideas from here Now, although all the information about the furniture/furnishing is listed here, you can personalize the decor with similar items you find locally. My favorites are Scandinavian Design stores, IKEA of course, and various antique stores just to name a few.

Decor: A Home In Central Coast

While I hide in the middle of California – 20 minutes from Solvang, 40 to San Luis Obispo and the fine wine region in between, I can’t help but notice all topics relating to this quick and easy getaway for this California gal.  In this case, the modern take on a beautiful home in Monterey – That’s all. Have a nice day 🙂

Decor: A Creative Approach To The Norm

Throughout England, I had become accustomed to see the brick homes perched along the blocks or even the countryside, with a simple twist to the old architecture – such as adding a solarium or perhaps even a pop of color for the shutters and the front door. Not much more than that – unless of course you venture out to the countryside and see a row of pre-fabricated, mindful to the style of homes throughout England, in a newer community that’s been developed. But this wonderful ‘work of art‘ (literally) caught my attention last night on Dwell, and I needed to share. You know, considering I am an artists of all sorts – dabbling in writing, illustration, and photography. So you can imagine what I would take from this design:

In Need of Motivation

I don’t think it is realized just how important a little sunshine every day is until summer in San Francisco, waking up every morning to a dense fog and temperatures in the mid to high 50’s at most. I know to some folks that’s not cold, but it is in the bay area standards. So, this Monday morning I need some motivation to…

Decor: Under The Tuscan Sun Villa is For Rent

I don’t know of any woman who was not taken away by the film Under the Tuscan Sun – when it first came out in 2003. Imaging a life as colorful as Frances Mayes’ in the film.  It’s funny, I still watch the movie now and again, feeling warm and fuzzy about the story as it unfolds onscreen. So – guess what made it to the top of my travel bucket list?
