designer handbags: kate spade for her

While I strolled through Bloomingdales in San Francisco during my lunch hour to check out the Spring/Summer handbag collection, I have to admit I was drawn to the Kate Spade “wall of fame”display of colorful handbags on the main level of the department store and I must mention,  the photos do no justice to the real goodies.

being pleasantly side tracked

I got online to shop for a cocktail dress, which I need for a company party  I am hosting at the end of the month but  instead got pleasantly sidetracked by pillows from here.  And just in case you’re wondering why the candle is there, I fell in love with that as well and felt all of my selections complimented one another perfectly. Oh and about the dress, well I’ll leave the weekend for that.  🙂 Have an amazing weekend everyone. boutique hotel pick – la bellechasse – paris, france

During the rainy and gray Fall days, all I can think of is colors in decor and focus mainly on escaping somewhere warm and cozy, even if only for a weekend. Although Paris is approximately 12hours away from where I reside currently, I cannot help but search for colorful and extraordinary boutique hotels which fit my mood.  La Bellechasse fits that very exact feeling.  Check out the bedrooms below:

women’s fashion 2013 by bottega veneta

The first time I saw the name Bottega Veneta was at the perfume counter at Nordstrom’s USA and I fell in love with the name and then the perfumes and when I dug deeper I discovered a whole new world of fashion  and more from the luxury designers. Now, I pretty much live and breathe Bottega-Veneta and of course I had to include some of my favorite women’s fashion for Spring 2013 from here:  Also very glad with a boutique store in San Francisco (near Union Square) 🙂

day 13 – travel journal – paris france

There is no way on earth I would pass up Paris, no matter what other destinations I have included in my annual trip to Europe. This year, while the TGV pulled into Gare de Lyon from Cannes at a little after 9p.m. I noticed it had been raining in the city of romance. I didn’t care, the rain is always refreshing in Paris and I have actually been in the city every month out of the year and every single time it had rained. It usually bothered me, but I’ve come to accept it and now even embrace it. Paris isn’t Paris without rain. We hopped on the RER (urban rail network train) from Gare de Lyon to our Hotel in Charles de Gaulle Etoile (between VIIIe and XVIIe arrondissements) and within a five minute walk, landed in front of our quaint hotel with minimal frills and turned in for the night. I usually sleep with the windows open, normally for fresh air, but in the case of Paris, just so I could hear the …

the photo shoot in me

These days when I look at myself in photos, I nearly cringe  at the fact, I am no longer photogenic.  Call it age, or call it wearing my heart out on my sleeve. Photos don’t lie no matter how hard we try. So, while interviewing photographers a couple of months ago for a wedding shoot, I contemplated the idea of having a fantasy photo shoot scheduled for myself, where I could pose as such:  (I have put it on my bucket list. :))

defining your look: for the woman over forty

Since I am one who commutes to work every day on the San Francisco Muni, I often look around the train to get a feel for how women dress while going to work. Although, in this part of the continent, we have traded in the suits for a “tasteful” semi-casual look, often times women over 40 tend to dress inappropriately even from the fashion point of view. What would you consider your look and tell me why?
