Decor: Popular Interior design by State

I have a pretty good idea of how some of the states which make up our country prefer to design or decor their homes. Of course there is a theme or a style that labels each state as well. In California we prefer transitional style  which is: Transitional style is often described as a balanced blend of traditional and contemporary furnishings and decor. … In short, transitional style is an elegant and timeless design motif that combines new and old–and masculine with feminine–in a fresh way.Apr 4, 2017 {source} And in case you are a design or decor nut like myself, then check this out:

Hair: Choosing The Right Bangs or Not

I did a complete hairstyle change back in April and regretted it the minute I walked out of the salon. Meaning to say, I wore my hair pretty long and only trimmed it here and there. But in April, I chopped off 3 inches of my hair and since my natural do is pretty curly, the straightening style I wore forever didn’t work. Finally, it’s growing back, but not enough yet for me to go in for a trim. Meanwhile my bangs are growing out, longer than  this pic of me and you know what I kinda like it. So before I step foot in a salon again for that much needed trim, I am contemplating about the bangs based on this:

Saturday Edition: If You Didn’t know By Now

If you didn’t know by now a few things about how life really works, this interesting read I found from a marketing guru a few days ago will give you some insight. The kind that makes you say “Hey, that’s really true.” Or “Yup, I knew that, but validation is always a good thing.” or “HAHA.” Sometimes that’s all it takes. Check out my favorite excerpts and then read on here: Airbrushing When they began airbrushing the models in fashion magazines fifty years ago, no one complained much. Everyone knew, we thought, that it was some sort of make believe. But then they started airbrushing our food. And then vacations.  And family photos. And brands. And jobs. Spend enough time looking through the glass on your tablet and you’ll come to believe that you’re the only one with a less-than-perfect situation. With the right filter, the grass really is greener… Which may very well cause you to amplify the differences, to magnify the distance between you and the airbrushed person with the online life. It’s gotten to the point …

Friday Fun Find Online

I stared at this interesting artsy assessment and read it a few times and then laughed, it’s kinda cute funny. And naturally I figured you might get a kick of it as well. What do you think? Is it on point? Or do you have something more interesting to share? If not, then have a safe weekend and be thankful for all the good in your life. {photo credit here}

Travel: California Wineries

In my opinion, February and October are the best months for the wineries in California – in terms of the beautiful photo opps.  February, thanks to the yellow mustard plants covering entire fields – the color contrast most welcoming against the bare blackened vines. October is harvest season, when the grapes are robust and deep variations of purple, and maroon, some even tranquil shades of green – intertwined with the changing Autumn colors of the leaves. So, naturally you have to plan a trip to California to see unique and some of the  most beautiful wineries: Sunstone Winery
