healthy eating: kiwi fruit of choice

I am constantly looking for ways to eat healthy, combining the right type of foods together to create wholesome meals to follow a good eating plan. So, when I was traveling through Italy last year, I walked into the breakfast room at my hotel in Genoa and noticed a woman piling up in a bowl loads of sliced Kiwi. She went to her table and nearly gulped them with a glass of water and then went back for seconds, doing the same afterwards. That image stuck to my mind and I decided to find out the story behind the kiwi fruit, the minute I stepped foot in the states. Unfortunately, that was nine months ago. Recently, while in the grocery store, I noticed another woman stocking up on kiwi and I suddenly remembered the woman in Genoa, rushing home afterwards to research the kiwi. words and pictures – a film for artists with passion for word and pictures

I am an author and an artist who appreciates words and pictures, knowing how each compliments the other and both are equally important for society to exist. Second, of course I happen to be a huge Clive Owen fan,  someone who’s been waiting for the talented actor to do funny. I got a glimpse of his ability to be funny in Duplicity with Julia Roberts and since then, I have been hoping he would remove his typical black raincoat, black tie in all things doom and gloom and consider a charming, funny role. My prayers have been answered. In the film Words and Pictures, Clive …

healthy recipe: kale salad in all sorts

Although it’s more cold in San Francisco during the summer months than it probably is in Alaska during the winter (yes I am exaggerating a little but you get the point) I still crave salads and fruits more than comfort food.  So, I run to Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods Market (two of my favorite grocery stores) and stock up on quinoa and Kale and pounds of fresh fruits, insisting for my hubby to indulge just the same. Kale is a hit or a miss if not prepared right. So, I had to make sure I found just the recipe or ingredients to add.  I found  a recipes here , (ten variations to be exact) and have managed to test out  three of them so far, my favorite being all of them 🙂 So please thumb through the list of recipes by clicking on the photo below and let me know what you think?

odds and ends of home decor and also design

Every three to four years, I’m craving a change in my home decor and begin to gather together (long before Pinterest) ideas on what I want to see happen in my home. I’ve helped a few friends this way and all the projects we’ve worked on turned out perfectly well, taking into consideration a mixture of decorating also design ideas. Here are some of my recent loves.
