Outside of the norm of playing tourist in Rome, yup in Rome, Italy, I get to eat the best artichoke salads and appetizers. It’s not like the U.S. when most times the vegetable is served pickled from a Jar or a can. Here they actually take the time to steam it just right, clean it perfectly and serve it my favorite style, a little bit of REAL olive oil and the best of the best Parmesan cheese. I couldn’t stop eating them at every meal and to think for years I opted for Insalata Caprese (tomato and buffalo cheese salad)
Hello everyone! Can you guess where I am? Please stay tuned as I share with you some of my favorite travel moments and photographs.
There are some colors in fashion that, no matter how hard you try, you cannot go wrong with them. That’s how I feel about neutrals and no matter what, I am always drawn to the hue. I admire Scandinavian decor for it’s simplicity and clean lines in design. So I often go to Ikea (locally) to get a visual of, I am sure, just a small sample of the most innovative and functional kitchens known to mankind. Check out some of my favorites from this amazing site
First rain of the season and I must say, it didn’t bother me a bit. It was almost sereal, because although the sun made an appearance through the clouds, it rained almost continuously throughout most of the day. I decided with the rain, I needed to sit in one of my favorite French Cafes for lunch and daydream the hour away. As soon as I entered the cafe, I was seated at a round marble table near the window and offered a bottle of water and the best French bread and sweet butter on this side of the Atlantic. While I looked over the menu to figure out what I wanted to order, I began to hear French conversation all around me, from locals and tourists alike. While I sat there smiling, the waiter asked what I was so happy about and all I could do is shake my head as if there was nothing to smile about. However, I couldn’t have asked for a better pick me up on a rainy Monday then to …
While I was choosing frames for my prescription glasses the other day, I, like everyone else, tried on at least 20 plus pairs before settling on a Tory Burch designer frames. Since they didn’t actually have a sample of the color I chose, I figured I could get online and see first hand the color I chose blindly. But, instead of finding the actual frames here to get a visual, I found some of my favorite outfits picks. Go figure 🙂 1. Ackly dress $575 2. doreen dress $495 3. tory tunic $325 4. melinda turtleneck $325 5. simone cardingan $225 6. robinson satchel $550 7. belinda bootie $395
I used to hate the end of Summer, because although it was foggy and cold in San Francisco, I felt a sense of sadness when the season ended. I suppose Summer for me marked the beginning of outdoor activities and longer days and colorful fashion, suntan and sidewalk cafes. However, since in San Francisco we normally experience what is known as Indian Summer at the end of September to almost mid to end of October, I have begun an appreciation for the Fall season as well and actually look forward to it, secretly. Since this past week we have experienced the hot, gorgeous, weather of Indian Summer, I decided to take my camera to work and capture some of the most beautiful colors reflecting off of the high-rise building in downtown, at the early morning hours. Please enjoy the photographers and remember they are the property of http://www.rawsilkandsaffron.wordpress.com. Thank you
I have always appreciated fashion jewelry, especially bracelets. So this year I decided to invest in a few new pieces to accessorize my Fall to Winter wardrobe. I found at least 10 from here which I liked. Now the hard part is deciding which to actually buy. Let me know what you think?
Some items of clothing tend to never disappear from fashion, year after year and while I do appreciate colors and trends, I do create a simple wardrobe based on that fact, which I certainly wear year after year. Here is one outfit, minus the trendy bags, which I have seen on the racks for the past, at least five years, and one that is simply easy to accessorize to give it a fresh look from one year to the next. 1. Sweater: Carven Ruched Stretch Wool Top $550 2. Skirt: Giambattista Vali Printed Wool Pencil Skirt $1155 3. Michael Kors block heeled suede ankle boot $950 4. Ralph Lauren Collection Corrine Suede Knee boots $1150 5. Top left: Tory Burch Carlin Two-tone leather tote $650 6. Top Right:Reed Krakoff boxer leather and wool tote $990
