I love a minimalist decor and design, a home organized in everything earth-toned and natural. With a pop of color here and there. I find it aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and most definitely calming from a stressful day at work, and the outdoor-city living chaos. See here what I mean:
Every three to four years, I’m craving a change in my home decor and begin to gather together (long before Pinterest) ideas on what I want to see happen in my home. I’ve helped a few friends this way and all the projects we’ve worked on turned out perfectly well, taking into consideration a mixture of decorating also design ideas. Here are some of my recent loves.
As I learn more about Scotland, and touch up again on the history of the royal families and the country’s connection with England, France, Canada and more, I imagine how regal the decor was, in the homes of the royalty, dukes and lords; falling in love mostly with the brilliant colors and different patterns put together to create esthetically pleasing ambiance. With that inspiration, I have found some modern takes from here on the regal decor from centuries ago, which I can see adding to any home, if you are into that sort of thing.
