Is Blogging A Thing of The Past?

I’ve been super active on Instagram, maybe addicted even. But it’s the only thing recently keeping me grounded in the midst of my busy hectic work day. The easiest release of tension. Add a photo, a line or two and even connect a tune…all depends on the mood. Don’t get me wrong. I love to write, here and there_book 4. In the midst of all the writing, daydreaming, pondering and plotting the recent novel idea, I do wonder if blogging is a thing of the past?

Pause On Long Time Passions

The Pandemic year, while cooped up at home, I outlined all sorts of projects for myself. Tapping mostly on my creative side, not applying techniques to my daily work, but actually drew up a plan: To do more writing and less working. Resurge my Etsy store during the holiday season to offer up those unique gifts and things, as well as improve my photography skills. Sounds like Fiscal year goals (for those of you with careers 🙂 ) Four years later, I have done nothing but work longer hours, thanks to working from home mainly, no Etsy products on display on my online store, now going on 3 holiday seasons passed. But the photography has been ample. Sharing on Instagram plenty, but not the kind where it drops a copy here in my website link for your viewing pleasure, but the ones that are saved under ‘ Insta-story’ where they fall off in 24 hours. Thought I’d share that with you today and the photos of course…

Food: In Search Of Olive Oil and Lemon Cake

I had a recipe a decade ago that I seem to have misplaced. It was a simple cake, baked in one round pan and no frosting. I mean who really needs frosting? Not Europeans and not me, especially if the cake is the best of flavors combined. A few days ago, while in an assembly belt style restaurant, where you pass by a dozen dishes and pick and choose what your eyes think your stomach can handle, and end up ordering too much – sort of place. But it was organic, freshly made variety of proteins, and side dishes, and very creative salads which changes using seasonal veggies and fruits. So, I queued up, and with my eyes opened wide, and my mouth-watering, ordered more than I needed to and by the time I reached the cash register, I noticed a lemon cake made with olive oil and I pointed to the very slice I wanted – making the person behind the counter laugh at my reaction of pure joy. The cake was good enough, …

happy anniversary with wordpress

Today marks my four-year anniversary with WordPress. Although I’ve been blogging for nine years now, I signed up with WordPress four years ago. With this milestone I do wonder if blogging will be around for another five years or even more since I’ve seen many come and too many go.  Blogging, although fun, is often times challenging and since there are so many out there very similar indeed in giving information, telling stories, sharing recipes, travel, entertainment news and what to wear, it almost makes it difficult to stay competitive. Kind of like everything else these days. So, what now I ask myself. What more can I strive for and how far do I go? At first blogging was just an outlet and now I know, it has become much more for me. I do know one thing for sure, I cannot see myself waking up every day and not blogging. I suppose I am addicted and I still have loads to say 🙂 Happy blogging everyone.
